Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Masamune Miyamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paddy OHoulahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyamoto misses with an uppercut.

OHoulahan rushes Miyamoto and presses him up against the cage.
Miyamoto has had enough of the clinch but OHoulahan keeps him there for the moment.

OHoulahan manages to break the clinch.
Miyamoto tries to score with a low kick but OHoulahan moves his leg out of the way.

OHoulahan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Miyamoto sprawls well initially but OHoulahan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
OHoulahan wants to get back to his feet.

OHoulahan is looking for a kimura but Miyamoto is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for OHoulahan to get the leverage.

Miyamoto pushes OHoulahan off and gets back to his feet.

OHoulahan closes the distance and pushes Miyamoto back into the cage.
Miyamoto is trying to force a seperation but OHoulahan has the dominant position.

OHoulahan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and OHoulahan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Miyamoto won't be happy with that.

Miyamoto is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
OHoulahan is looking to take a break and control but Miyamoto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Miyamoto wants to get back to his feet but OHoulahan drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
OHoulahan looking to control but instead Miyamoto has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Miyamoto is trying to control but can't.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Miyamoto closes the distance but OHoulahan moves to the side

and OHoulahan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Miyamoto's guard.

OHoulahan shoots in for a takedown but Miyamoto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Miyamoto throws a leg kick which misses OHoulahan's front leg but catches the back leg as OHoulahan tries to avoid it.

OHoulahan had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Miyamoto is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. OHoulahan Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Miyamoto's back instead.
OHoulahan wants to control but Miyamoto manages to buck him off and is now in OHoulahan's guard! Nice work there by Miyamoto!

Miyamoto postures up in OHoulahan's guard and throws a big left but OHoulahan blocks it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Miyamoto moves in looking to clinch but OHoulahan pushes him off.
Miyamoto tries a head kick but it misses.
Miyamoto wants to clinch
and OHoulahan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paddy OHoulahan dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Miyamoto shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. OHoulahan is trying to defend but Miyamoto finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Miyamoto thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed OHoulahan's head.
Miyamoto tries to pass the half guard into mount. OHoulahan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
OHoulahan tries to get to full guard but Miyamoto has control of the leg.
Miyamoto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

OHoulahan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Miyamoto is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That's time! Miyamoto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


OHoulahan fails with the takedown.
Miyamoto stalks OHoulahan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into OHoulahan's face. OHoulahan staggers backwards, shaken.
OHoulahan slips a jab and a cross from Miyamoto.
Miyamoto shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. OHoulahan defends it nicely.
OHoulahan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Miyamoto tries to close the distance and clinch up but OHoulahan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Miyamoto throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Miyamoto tries to bum rush OHoulahan with a series of wild strikes but OHoulahan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

OHoulahan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Miyamoto is defending well for now.

OHoulahan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Miyamoto tries to clinch but fails miserably

and OHoulahan counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

OHoulahan is looking for a kimura but Miyamoto is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for OHoulahan to get the leverage.

Miyamoto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and OHoulahan defends well.
OHoulahan wanted to stand there but Miyamoto had control of the position.
OHoulahan won't allow Miyamoto to get back to his feet.

OHoulahan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Miyamoto is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst OHoulahan is controlling him.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
A frustrated look appears on Miyamoto's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Miyamoto lands a hook to the side of the head.
Miyamoto tries to break the clinch but OHoulahan is controlling the position.
Miyamoto throws a head punch that misses.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

OHoulahan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
OHoulahan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Miyamoto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Both fighters circling a little - Miyamoto finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
A lazy left from Miyamoto finds it's target.
OHoulahan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Miyamoto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Miyamoto gets to his feet - OHoulahan follows without any prompting.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Miyamoto, as that shot connected.
Miyamoto lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but OHoulahan circles away quickly and effectively.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Masamune Miyamoto.
I think Miyamoto has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
