Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Esposito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alberto Aquilani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Esposito!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alberto Aquilani!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esposito defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Aquilani.

Aquilani scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Aquilani is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Esposito is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Esposito can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Esposito gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Aquilani trying to advance position but Esposito counters by regaining guard.
Esposito avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Aquilani drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Esposito manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Aquilani has Esposito in his guard.
Esposito passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Aquilani manages to work his way to half guard, despite Esposito's best efforts.

Aquilani is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Esposito pulls his head out easily.

Aquilani is trying to get back to full guard.

Esposito stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Aquilani to get to his feet.

Esposito clinches up against the ropes.
Esposito lands a hook to the side of the head.
Esposito gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Esposito pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Aquilani looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Esposito gets full guard.

Aquilani has gone for a leg lock! Esposito slips out almost immediately though and dives into Aquilani's guard.
Esposito is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Esposito wants to stand but Aquilani is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Aquilani looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Esposito passes into side control.
Aquilani is looking to regain half guard here but Esposito keeps moving and retains side control.

Esposito decides to stand up, so the ref orders Aquilani to his feet.
Aquilani shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Esposito sprawls well. Esposito wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Aquilani gets slowly back to his feet.
Alberto Aquilani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aquilani takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Esposito stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Esposito wants it to stay on the feet.
Frank Esposito has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alberto Aquilani.
Esposito moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Frank Esposito is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Esposito looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Esposito tries to land a front kick but Aquilani steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Aquilani fails with a takedown attempt.
A left lands for Esposito.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Esposito throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
An inside leg kick lands from Esposito.
Aquilani shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Esposito cracks Aquilani with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Aquilani looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Esposito finish him?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Esposito dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Esposito moves into the clinch successfully.


Aquilani is rocked!
Esposito's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Aquilani is still on wobbly legs! Can Esposito finish him?
Esposito unloads a knee to the mid-section. Aquilani lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Esposito utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Aquilani seems to have recovered his senses.

Esposito breaks from the clinch.
Aquilani moves out of range as Esposito throws a body kick.
Esposito looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Esposito lands a big head kick that sends Aquilani to the canvas! Esposito follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Esposito!
