Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bernard Bucket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timmy Varas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Timmy Varas! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Varas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bucket swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bucket closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Varas tries to break free but Bucket pushes him back against the cage. Varas being controlled against the cage. Bucket blocking some punches.
Bucket with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Bucket pulls guard successfully.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Varas is looking to stand up but Bucket won't let him. Bucket wants to stand and escape but Varas is having none of it. Bucket looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bucket controls Varas momentarily but Varas frees himself. Varas stopping the sweep attempt from Bucket. Varas postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Varas is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Bucket wants to get back to his feet but Varas is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Varas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bucket. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Varas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bucket circles away. Varas tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Bucket counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Varas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bucket swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bucket tries a head kick but it misses.
Varas with a poor takedown and Bucket counters with a three punch combo that has Varas backing up. Varas nods at Bucket to acknowledge the strikes. Bucket circles away from the clinch attempt and Bucket counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Varas is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Varas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bucket swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jab, jab by Bucket - just one landing. Varas gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bucket. This has been an exciting period of action! Varas looks to clinch and Bucket counters with a flying knee. Nice. Varas looks gassed! Varas tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Bucket lands a big head kick that sends Varas tumbling to the mat! Bucket takes a step backwards and waves Varas back to his feet - he wants the finish! Varas is still on wobbly legs! Can Bucket finish him? Bucket swats away the attempt to clinch by Varas. Bucket fails with the takedown. Varas seems to have recovered his senses. Bucket uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Varas.

Varas tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Bucket counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Varas takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Bucket misses with a head kick.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Bucket. Bucket lands a high kick!
Bucket ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Varas takes a shot to the body in his stride.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bucket looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Varas is refusing to be controlled, as Bucket sits in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bucket decides to stand up. Varas wants to clinch but Bucket slips to the side and Bucket decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Varas's guard. Bucket is looking to stand up but Varas won't let him. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Varas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bucket advances position into side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bernard Bucket dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Varas tries to clinch
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. and Bucket counters with a single leg into guard. Varas didn't expect that. Bucket postures up.
Bucket wants to control from the top but Varas keeps moving. Varas has Bucket pulled in close to control his posture. Bucket trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bucket stopping the sweep attempt from Varas. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bucket gets to his feet - Varas follows without any prompting. Varas moves in looking to clinch but Bucket pushes him off. Varas gets in close and instigates a clinch. Bucket pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bernard Bucket is winning the standup battle so far. Bucket keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Varas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Bucket counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Varas can do anything to dispel that myth. Bucket trying to control but Varas is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bucket looking to sit in guard and control but Varas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Bucket lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Varas! Bucket controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bucket can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Varas is looking to escape. Varas really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bucket lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Bucket lands a big shot there that rocks Varas but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Varas is trying desperately to improve position. Bucket can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Varas is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bernard Bucket dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Bucket clinches up with Varas and pushes him back against the cage. Varas gets through Bucket's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Varas has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bucket is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Varas tries to work over Bucket's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Varas has a couple of punches blocked by Bucket.
Bucket breaks from the clinch.
Bucket feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Varas keeping moving, preventing Bucket from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Varas has a closed guard, preventing Bucket from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bucket postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bucket trying to control the position from guard on top but Varas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Varas keeping full guard, as Bucket tries to pass. Bucket chips away with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bucket stands and steps away. Varas gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Bucket throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Varas. Bucket lands a head kick. Varas smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Bucket misses with a double jab.
Timmy Varas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Varas is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Varas tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bucket counters by moving into the clinch. Bucket tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Varas smiles and moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Varas shoots in but no luck this time. Varas takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Jab from Bucket. Varas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bucket lands a head kick!
Bucket looks to score with a jab to the body but Varas is just out of range. Varas wants to clinch. Bucket plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Bucket shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Varas but Varas pushes him off and we're back to square one. Varas looks to clinch and Bucket counters with a head kick. That will keep Varas thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Varas shoots and misses and Bucket counters with a head kick. Bucket throws a sloppy head kick and Varas moves out of range easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bucket throws a head kick but Varas moves out of range.
Bucket throws a head kick that misses. A head kick misses from Bucket. Bucket is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Varas can do to turn this around? Varas tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bucket counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Varas's guard now. Varas working a defensive guard here.
Bernard Bucket overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Varas trying to control the position here. Bucket trying to control but Varas is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Bernard Bucket showed his dominance in that final round. Well Bucket has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
