Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Keith Senior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis has chosen D12 - Fight music as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Keith Senior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Charlie Davis!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Senior wants to clinch up but Davis keeps it at a distance.
Senior will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Senior doesn't manage to clinch there - Davis circles away.
Davis swats away the attempt to clinch by Senior.
An inside leg kick lands from Senior.

Senior looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Davis!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Davis working to try and regain half guard.

Senior with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Senior lands a big shot there that rocks Davis but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

You get the feeling that Davis really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Davis is not content to let Senior control the position.
Davis regains full guard. Nicely done.
Davis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Davis looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Senior has picked Davis up and slammed him! Davis can't keep hold of the triangle and Senior manages to pass to side control!

Senior is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Davis has escaped the position, nice work there.
Senior throws an elbow but Davis slips to the side and avoids it well.
Davis tries to improve position but can't.
Davis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Senior thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head.
Senior tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Davis.

Davis looking for submissions off his back.
Davis wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Senior works his foot free and advances to mount.
Senior looking to control and managing it successfully.
Senior trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Davis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Senior with good strikes from the mount here!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Senior has hold of Davis's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Davis manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Davis regains half guard.
Senior thows a huge punch but Davis dodges it nicely.
Davis regains full guard. Nicely done.
Senior postures up.
Davis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Davis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Senior was covering up waiting for the punch and Davis finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Senior can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Davis controls the pace.

Senior has his foot on Davis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davis works his way back into a safe position though.

Senior has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Davis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Davis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Senior, up you get!

Davis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Senior's half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Davis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Senior defends it well.
Senior regains full guard. Nicely done.

Charlie Davis has got the better of the ground game so far.

Senior lands a nice leg kick that just misses Davis's sensitive parts.
Senior tries to clinch up but Davis circles away and keeps his distance.

Davis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Senior gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Davis stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Senior fails with the takedown

and Davis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Davis passes Senior's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Charlie Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Davis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Davis is stalling here. Senior is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Davis seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Senior has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Senior tries to score with some ground and pound. Davis controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Davis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Davis moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Davis wants to sweep but no luck.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Senior gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
