Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyrus Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Gonazaga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyrus Wilson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Gonazaga ! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilson slips a jab and a cross from Gonazaga .
Carlos Gonazaga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gonazaga throws a right and a left that both miss. Wilson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gonazaga to the mat! Gonazaga manages to get full guard. Wilson stays in close to Gonazaga 's body and controls the position. Gonazaga keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully. Wilson is stalling in the full guard. Wilson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Wilson trying to control but Gonazaga is working from the bottom. Wilson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gonazaga wants to stand and escape but Wilson is having none of it. Gonazaga pushes Wilson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Gonazaga tries to clinch up.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Gonazaga . Wilson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gonazaga ! Wilson looking to secure an arm triangle but Gonazaga defends it well. Gonazaga is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Wilson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gonazaga is in a horrible position here. Wilson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Gonazaga trying desperately to get to his feet.
Gonazaga looks gassed! Gonazaga wants to hold on but Wilson pushes him away. Gonazaga in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Wilson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gonazaga can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Gonazaga is squirming around, avoiding Wilson's attempts to control the action. Wilson has hold of Gonazaga 's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gonazaga manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gonazaga 's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Wilson has control of Gonazaga 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gonazaga regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gonazaga tries to buck Wilson off but he can't manage it. Wilson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gonazaga can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wilson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gonazaga hang on? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gonazaga pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wilson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gonazaga swivels and escapes. Wilson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Wilson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gonazaga walks away with a smile on his face. Wilson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Wilson instigates a clinch. Gonazaga tries to break the clinch but Wilson is controlling the position. Wilson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Gonazaga 's efforts to push away. Gonazaga wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Wilson has Gonazaga pressed against the cage, preventing Gonazaga from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Gonazaga gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Wilson.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyrus Wilson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wilson prevents Gonazaga from breaking the clinch. Wilson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wilson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Gonazaga plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson shoots in but no luck this time. Gonazaga lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A right-left combo lands from Gonazaga . Gonazaga throws a sloppy head kick and Wilson moves out of range easily. Gonazaga gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Wilson won't allow Gonazaga to get back to his feet. Gonazaga is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Wilson is looking to clinch. Wilson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wilson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Wilson is in the full mount, landing strikes. Wilson working away from the top, dropping strikes. Gonazaga wants to try and get back to his feet. Wilson with the ground and pound from mount. Wilson controlling the position easily from mount. Gonazaga is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gonazaga can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Carlos Gonazaga is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wilson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gonazaga circles away quickly and effectively. Gonazaga stuffs the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gonazaga scores with a one two! Wilson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Wilson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Wilson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Wilson prevents Gonazaga from standing back up.

Tyrus Wilson dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
Gonazaga missing with a left hand there. Wilson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Wilson throws a head kick that misses letting Gonazaga counter with a right hand. Gonazaga swinging wilding here.

Gonazaga throws a head kick that misses and Wilson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gonazaga won't be happy with that. Wilson has knee on belly and moves into mount. Gonazaga is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Gonazaga is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Gonazaga is bucking up trying to escape but Wilson cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Gonazaga is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gonazaga trying desperately to get to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Wilson content just to control the position here. Gonazaga is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Wilson looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Gonazaga is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Tyrus Wilson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wilson wants to finish this one by submission but Gonazaga is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Wilson. Wilson wants to control the pace but Gonazaga is squirming around nicely. Carlos Gonazaga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tyrus Wilson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
And that's the end of the fight! Tyrus Wilson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wilson, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
