PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eza Nahka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quinn comes to the cage accompanied by The Blood of Cuchulainn. The key to victory for Pete Quinn has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Pete Quinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Eza Nahka!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nahka throws a lazy right hand but Quinn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Quinn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Quinn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nahka circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pete Quinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Nahka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Quinn stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Quinn wants it to stay on the feet.

Nahka swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Quinn is now in Nahka's guard. A big mistake from Nahka there, giving up the dominant position!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quinn is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Nahka will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Nahka tries to lock up and control but Quinn gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Nahka is squirming around, avoiding Quinn's attempts to control the action.
Quinn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nahka shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nahka was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pete Quinn.
I think Quinn has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
