Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tsingtao Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Kyoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Felipe Kyoto is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tsingtao Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Kyoto! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kyoto swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kyoto shoots for a takedown but Smith saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kyoto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kyoto defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Smith. Kyoto misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Smith is looking to clinch but Kyoto is avoiding it.
Smith wants to clinch up but Kyoto keeps it at a distance. Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Kyoto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kyoto throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Kyoto finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kyoto trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Smith tries to get out of the position. Smith wants to get back to his feet but Kyoto is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kyoto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kyoto trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Kyoto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kyoto seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Smith tries to clinch up but Kyoto circles away and keeps his distance. Kyoto takes one on the button. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kyoto. Kyoto takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Kyoto moves out of range easily. Smith is looking to clinch but Kyoto is avoiding it.

Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kyoto swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kyoto shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Smith turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Smith is looking to clinch but Kyoto is avoiding it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kyoto throws a sloppy head kick and Smith counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Smith. Smith wants to control from the top but Kyoto keeps moving. Kyoto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kyoto is breathing heavily. Kyoto throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. Smith slams his shin into Kyoto's torso. Smith digs a good body shot into Kyoto's ribs. Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kyoto has time to react. Kyoto keeps the fight on the outside. Smith explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Smith tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kyoto looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Smith! Kyoto wants to control the pace but Smith is squirming around nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but Kyoto has a good base and remains in mount. Kyoto takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith tries to hold on but Kyoto pushes him away. Smith is in a horrible position here. Kyoto smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kyoto tries to control but Smith wriggling away. Smith tries to hold on but Kyoto postures up. Smith is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kyoto lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Kyoto unloads with some shots from mount but Smith bucks and avoids them well.
Smith blocking the ground and pound. Kyoto looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Kyoto working for a guillotine from mount but Smith is in no mood to give up. Felipe Kyoto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Smith is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kyoto throwing strikes here but Smith is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Kyoto looking to control but Smith is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Tsingtao Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Smith tries to lock up and control but Kyoto gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that's the end of the fight! Felipe Kyoto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Smith has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
