Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mr Funktastic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Silva will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funktastic keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Funktastic shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Funktastic passes Silva's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Silva moves into full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Funktastic is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Silva wants to sweep here but Funktastic controlling him for the moment.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Funktastic can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Funktastic drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Funktastic has Silva in his guard.

Funktastic had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Silva is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Funktastic Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Silva's back instead.

Silva trying to control the action but Funktastic just sinks the hooks in.
Silva defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Funktastic's arms.

Silva leaves Funktastic with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Funktastic. Funktastic gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Funktastic looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Funktastic persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.
Funktastic dives in and grabs Silva's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes down on Funktastic's head and hops out.
Nice defenses there by Funktastic.
Funktastic jabs Silva right on the nose. Silva blinks but takes it well.
Horrible takedown by Funktastic or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
