Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Graham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Dee Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jimmy Graham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Dee Penn!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Graham sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Penn somewhat.
Penn shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Graham defends it nicely.

Graham drives through with a takedown into guard.
Graham pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Penn is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Penn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Graham trying to control but Penn is working from the bottom.

Graham is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Penn throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Graham passes Penn's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Penn tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Graham works his way into side control.
Penn looking for a sweep but Graham has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Penn looks gassed!
Penn is wriggling around trying to escape.

Graham is going olschool here, as he tries to force Penn to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Penn shrugs it off.

Graham is working for a guillotine from mount but Penn frees his head quite easily.

Penn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Penn is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Graham working for a submission but Penn is keeping him at bay.

Graham has control of Penn's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Penn regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Penn tries to lock up and control but Graham gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Graham working for a guillotine from mount but Penn is in no mood to give up.
Penn is trying desperately to improve position.
Penn tries to hold on but Graham postures up.
Penn sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Graham prevents Penn from improving his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Graham is looking for a kimura but Penn is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Graham to get the leverage.

Penn looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Graham is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Penn gets back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Graham stands up out of Penn's guard for a moment - Penn manages to land a nice upkick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Graham dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Graham throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Penn was covering up waiting for the punch and Graham finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Graham stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Penn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Penn tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Penn striking off his back but it's not causing Graham any problems.

Penn working for submissions but it's allowed Graham to get to half guard.

Graham is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Penn defends it well.
Penn tries to get to full guard but Graham has control of the leg.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Graham moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Penn.

Graham is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Penn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Penn tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Penn is trying to strike from the bottom but Graham has passed into full mount.

Graham looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Penn bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Penn throws and elbow that misses. Graham uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Penn's guard. Nice move by Graham!
Graham won't allow Penn to sweep him here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Penn throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Graham passes easily into side control. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Penn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Graham tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Graham has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Graham working for a submission but Penn is keeping him at bay.
Penn swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Graham is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Penn can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Graham working for a guillotine from mount but Penn is in no mood to give up.
Penn tries to hold on but Graham postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Graham dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Penn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Graham counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Penn's guard now.
Graham takes a decent strike to the side of the head.

Graham is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Penn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Graham is working to tighten is grip on Penn's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Penn has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Graham is really squeezing tight and eventually Penn passes out! Graham breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
