Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Silvia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeda Sokaku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sokaku is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: She's Like the Wind. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silvia throws a head kick but Sokaku moves out of range.
Silvia clinches with his opponent.
Sokaku is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Silvia escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silvia instigates a clinch.
Silvia has clasped his hands together around Sokaku's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Silvia decides to stand back up.
Sokaku clinches but Silvia breaks the clinch
and Silvia counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Silvia.

Sokaku tries a head kick but it misses.
Silvia closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silvia lands in his opponent's guard.

Silvia wants to stand but Sokaku is controlling the position.
Silvia is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sokaku is aware though and is defending well.
Sokaku drops back looking for a leg! Silvia is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silvia manages to kick Sokaku off! Sokaku jumps back into Silvia's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silvia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silvia shoots for a double leg takedown but Sokaku sprawls well. He's pushed Silvia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Silvia will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silvia is breathing heavily.
Sokaku darts in trying to clinch
and Silvia counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sokaku won't be happy with that.
Sokaku is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Silvia's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Silvia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sokaku keeps working.
Sokaku has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silvia is working away from the top position though.
Silvia prevents Sokaku from improving his position.
Silvia tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Sokaku.
Sokaku tries to get to full guard but Silvia has control of the leg.
Sokaku is controlling Silvia's position as best he can from this difficult position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Silvia gets a clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Silvia creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Sokaku stalling in the clinch but Silvia improves position.
Silvia escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silvia leaves Sokaku with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jason Silvia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Silvia rushes Sokaku and presses him up against the cage.

Sokaku is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Silvia is defending well for now.

Silvia digs a right hand underneath Sokaku's ribcage. Sokaku let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Silvia is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sokaku can't fight it off and eventually Silvia manages to take the fight to the floor. Sokaku looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Silvia seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still in half guard, Silvia seems content to control.
Silvia is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sokaku doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Silvia.

and Silvia counters with a single leg into guard. Sokaku didn't expect that.

Sokaku is trying to keep Silvia in close.

Silvia wants to control from the top but Sokaku keeps moving.
Silvia won't allow Sokaku to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silvia would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Sokaku tries to land knees in the clinch but Silvia avoids the damage to the body.

Jason Silvia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeda Sokaku.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silvia lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Silvia postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sokaku looks a forlorn figure.

Sokaku is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Silvia pulls his head out easily.

Silvia is keen to just control but Sokaku is a slippery customer.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Silvia decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sokaku's guard.
