Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frankie Treetops! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ned Kiely! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Treetops gets a takedown into half guard. Nice strikes from Treetops there. Treetops wants to stand but Kiely has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Kiely tries to get to full guard but Treetops has control of the leg. Treetops is keen to just control but Kiely is a slippery customer. Kiely is looking for a sweep. Treetops is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Treetops lands strikes from half guard. Kiely is pressing down on Treetops's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Treetops trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kiely is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kiely has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Treetops can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Treetops lands a couple of elbows. Kiely trying to keep a closed guard but Treetops is proving a slippery customer.
Kiely looks gassed! Kiely lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Treetops!
That's one minute gone in the round. Treetops manages to regain half guard. Good work. Treetops is trying to stand.
Treetops has one foot on Kiely's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Treetops swats away the attempt to clinch by Kiely. Treetops tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kiely swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kiely tries for a takedown but Treetops circles away easily and Treetops holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Treetops goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kiely prevents it.
Treetops escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Treetops fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Treetops will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Treetops looks to land a combination but Kiely avoids it well. Treetops misses with a wild combination.
Kiely looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Treetops! Kiely is going olschool here, as he tries to force Treetops to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Treetops shrugs it off. Treetops squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Kiely prevents Treetops from getting the reversal. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Kiely misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Kiely is working for a guillotine from mount but Treetops frees his head quite easily.
Kiely goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Treetops turns into him and now he's in Kiely's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Treetops tries to free his leg and advance position but Kiely is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiely keeping moving, preventing Treetops from controlling successfully. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Treetops's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Kiely is looking for a triangle but Treetops pushes his legs off easily.
Kiely looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kiely working a defensive guard here.
Treetops trying to control the position from guard on top but Kiely is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Treetops rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kiely moves out of range and avoids them all easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Treetops looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Treetops goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Treetops connects with a crisp jab. Kiely doesn't succeed with the takedown and Treetops counters with a stiff right hand. Kiely is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Treetops. Kiely circles away from the clinch attempt.
Treetops shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kiely is trying to defend but Treetops finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. It looks like Treetops is going to stand back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kiely trying to hold on to Treetops's head to control him but Treetops postures up.
Kiely wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankie Treetops dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kiely has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Kiely shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Treetops but Treetops pushes him off and we're back to square one. Treetops closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kiely to the mat! Kiely manages to get full guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Treetops keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kiely's head. Treetops stands up and waves to Kiely to follow him. Treetops closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Treetops lands in his opponent's guard. Kiely is trying to control the position but Treetops postures up. Kiely is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Treetops won't allow Kiely to sweep him here.

Treetops gets to his feet - Kiely follows without any prompting. Frankie Treetops seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Treetops pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kiely tries to clinch but fails miserably and Treetops holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Kiely drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Treetops gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Treetops is trying to break the clinch but Kiely has him pressed against the cage. Kiely keeps control of Treetops as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kiely goes for a takedown in the clinch but Treetops prevents it.
Frankie Treetops has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ned Kiely. Treetops escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Treetops throws a right hand that Kiely ducks under and follows up with a left that Kiely also avoids with ease. A right-left combo lands from Treetops.

Treetops tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kiely counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kiely drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kiely jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kiely trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kiely drops back, looking for a kneebar! Treetops looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Treetops looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Treetops! Treetops stands up and we're back to a striking position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Treetops tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kiely counters into the clinch. Treetops gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kiely to score an easy takedown into full guard. Kiely keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Treetops's head. Treetops wants to get back to his feet but Kiely is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Treetops knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kiely on the ground. Kiely drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kiely jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A close second round but Ned Kiely will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Treetops tries to bum rush Kiely with a series of wild strikes but Kiely uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Treetops tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Treetops closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kiely did well to prevent Treetops getting side control. Treetops looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kiely with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Kiely is pressing down on Treetops's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kiely is on top in guard.
Kiely in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kiely won't allow Treetops to get back to his feet. Kiely thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Treetops kicks Kiely off and gets to his feet. Treetops works over Kiely's head and body with a nice combination. Kiely feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kiely jumps back into Treetops's guard. Kiely throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Treetops works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kiely works over Treetops with some ground and pound from guard. Kiely drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kiely jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kiely prevents Treetops from getting back to his feet. Kiely lands a couple of digs. Treetops has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kiely off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Treetops misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kiely shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kiely won't allow Treetops to get back to his feet. Treetops has momentary wrist control but Kiely slips an elbow through the middle. Kiely working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kiely missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kiely postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kiely in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Treetops punching from the bottom - just letting Kiely know he's still in a fight.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Treetops shoots and misses and Kiely counters with a takedown into side control. Kiely postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kiely prevents Treetops from escaping the position. Kiely is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Treetops has escaped the position, nice work there. An elbow from Kiely crashes against the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiely working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Treetops is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kiely is controlling him well. Treetops struggling a bit here. Kiely is trying to get an arm triangle but Treetops is defending well. Kiely throws an elbow but Treetops slips to the side and avoids it well. Kiely is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Treetops is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Treetops is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kiely is controlling him well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kiely is trying to get an arm triangle but Treetops is defending well. Treetops throws Kiely to one side and escapes! Excellent takedown into side control there by Kiely. Treetops is trying to buck Kiely off. Kiely tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kiely wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Treetops, who protects the arm well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kiely throws a strike aimed at the side of Treetops's head but Treetops avoids it well.
And that's the end of the fight! Ned Kiely comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kiely has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
