Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kai Polinsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Harkonnen!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polinsky throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Polinsky fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Polinsky tries to score a power double leg takedown but Harkonnen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Polinsky somewhat.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Harkonnen.
Harkonnen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Polinsky keeps working.
Polinsky is trying to escape the position but Harkonnen is controlling the position.
Harkonnen tries to move to mount but Polinsky blocks the move with his legs.
Harkonnen misses with the ground and pound.
Harkonnen is putting a hurting on Polinsky here, landing some big shots from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harkonnen is looking for a kimura but Polinsky is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Harkonnen to get the leverage.

Polinsky is trying to control but Harkonnen manages to pass to mount!

Polinsky is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Harkonnen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Polinsky is desperately trying to improve his position but Harkonnen has a good base and remains in mount.

Harkonnen jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Polinsky is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Polinsky and Harkonnen has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Harkonnen wants to finish this one by submission but Polinsky is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Harkonnen.

Polinsky defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Harkonnen.

Harkonnen get's back to his feet.

Harkonnen wants to clinch up but Polinsky keeps it at a distance.
Harkonnen tries to clinch up but Polinsky circles away and keeps his distance.
Polinsky tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Harkonnen swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kai Polinsky. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Harkonnen gets a clinch.
Harkonnen wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Harkonnen tries to pull guard but Polinsky won't allow it.

Harkonnen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Harkonnen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Polinsky's guard.
Harkonnen wants to get up but he can't break Polinsky's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Polinsky has his foot on Harkonnen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harkonnen works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Polinsky is squirming around, avoiding Harkonnen's attempts to control the action.
Polinsky tries to lock up and control but Harkonnen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Harkonnen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Polinsky defends it well.
Harkonnen is trying to control the action in half guard but Polinsky is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Harkonnen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Polinsky defends it well.

Harkonnen drops back looking for a leg! Polinsky is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Polinsky manages to kick Harkonnen off! Harkonnen jumps back into Polinsky's guard.

Harkonnen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Harkonnen trying to control the position from guard on top but Polinsky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Polinsky is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Harkonnen defends well.
Harkonnen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Polinsky looking to hit a scissor sweep but Harkonnen is one step ahead there.

Harkonnen gets to his feet. Polinsky looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Harkonnen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Polinsky had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Harkonnen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Polinsky Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Harkonnen's back instead.
You can see the frustration on Harkonnen's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Polinsky is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Harkonnen is defending well though. Polinsky let's go of the attempt for now.

Harkonnen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Polinsky seems a little lost for a moment, as Harkonnen dominates the positioning.

Vladimir Harkonnen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Harkonnen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Harkonnen is looking to take a break and control but Polinsky is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Despite being in the dominant position, Vladimir Harkonnen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Harkonnen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Polinsky did well to prevent Harkonnen getting side control.
Polinsky is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Harkonnen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Harkonnen's back!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Harkonnen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Harkonnen gets to mount! Polinsky was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Harkonnen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Polinsky can't escape the position.
BOOM! Harkonnen connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Harkonnen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Polinsky is looking to escape.
Polinsky sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Harkonnen stands up from Polinsky's guard - Harkonnen perhaps looking for a knockout.
Polinsky doesn't manage to clinch there - Harkonnen circles away.

Vladimir Harkonnen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Harkonnen obliges.

Vladimir Harkonnen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Harkonnen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
