Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Slinky McDougle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and john paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Slinky McDougle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, john paul! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! paul tries a head kick but it misses.
paul misses with a wild combination.
paul wants to clinch. paul on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. paul avoids a lazy jab quite easily. paul drives through with a takedown into guard. McDougle lands with a heel strike from the guard.
McDougle throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
McDougle looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McDougle doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. paul won't allow McDougle to sweep him here. paul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McDougle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. paul trying to control the position from guard on top but McDougle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. paul trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. paul's corner is telling him to maintain position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. paul is looking to clinch. paul throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McDougle's waist but McDougle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing paul off to one side. McDougle misses with a takedown attempt - paul sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. paul tries for a takedown but McDougle circles away easily and McDougle counters with a single leg into guard. paul didn't expect that. paul looks gassed! Hammerfist, elbow! yells McDougle's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. McDougle lands a couple of digs. McDougle landing with the ground and pound. McDougle scores with a decent looking elbow strike. McDougle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. paul swivels though and keeps the full guard. McDougle advances position into side control! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McDougle scoring with punches and elbows. McDougle creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. McDougle looks up at the clock and then as paul takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, McDougle smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's three minutes gone in the round. paul takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

McDougle cracks paul with a big elbow. McDougle cracks paul with a big right hand but paul just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
McDougle creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. paul takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if paul can do anything to dispel that myth. McDougle scores with punches from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McDougle scoring with punches from side control. paul tries to get back to half guard but can't. Check out the look on McDougle's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McDougle lands a few punches from side control. paul takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McDougle is putting a hurting on paul here, landing some big shots from side control. McDougle is working paul over with some ground and pound from side control. McDougle lands a decent elbow from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Slinky McDougle dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
McDougle throws a monster overhand right that drops paul! McDougle follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
