Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Travers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Minemeyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Minemeyer is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Space Lord by Monster Magnet. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barry Minemeyer!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minemeyer moves in looking to clinch but Travers pushes him off.

Minemeyer clinches up with Travers and pushes him back against the cage.
Minemeyer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Travers smiles and moves away.

Travers drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Minemeyer is looking for a triangle but Travers pushes his legs off easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Minemeyer can do anything to dispel that myth.
Travers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Minemeyer has his foot on Travers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Travers works his way back into a safe position though.

Minemeyer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Travers is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Minemeyer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Travers's back instead.
What can Travers do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Travers could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Travers is in all sorts of trouble here.

Minemeyer jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Travers is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Travers and Minemeyer has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Minemeyer is just content to waste time from the top position. Travers takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Travers is pulling down on Minemeyer's head. It's preventing any offense from Minemeyer, at least for the moment.

Despite being in the dominant position, Barry Minemeyer just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Minemeyer goes for a takedown in the clinch but Travers prevents it.

Minemeyer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Travers is pushing down on Minemeyer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Minemeyer is fighting to maintain full guard but Travers has managed to sneak the leg through.
Minemeyer is looking to get back to full guard here but Travers has managed to pass to side control instead.
Minemeyer is in all sorts of trouble here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
BOOM! Travers connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Travers with a couple of short strikes.
Travers is landing with some decent strikes but Minemeyer is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Minemeyer sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Travers tries to pass the half guard into mount. Minemeyer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Minemeyer gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Travers counters with a three punch combo that has Minemeyer backing up. Minemeyer nods at Travers to acknowledge the strikes.

Minemeyer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Travers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Travers tries to move to full mount but Minemeyer actually manages to regain half guard.
Minemeyer wants to improve his position but Travers is controlling well.
Minemeyer is not content to let Travers control the position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Travers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Minemeyer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Travers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Minemeyer throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Travers escapes and throws Minemeyer's legs to the side, diving into side control!

and Travers counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Minemeyer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Travers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Travers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Minemeyer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Travers has managed to get both his arms back between Minemeyer's legs - danger averted.

Travers gets to his feet. Minemeyer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Minemeyer misses with a hook to the ribs.

Bobby Travers showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Travers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
