The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn ducks right into an uppercut from Doddley.
Penn misses with a double jab.
Doddley closes the distance and pushes Penn back into the cage.
Doddley tries to pull guard but Penn won't allow it.
Penn is pressed up against the cage. Doddley has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Penn down to the mat. Penn avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Penn looks to land a combination but Doddley avoids it well.
Penn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Doddley paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Penn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Doddley has Penn up against the cage in a clinch.
Doddley is trying to break the clinch but Penn is controlling him.

Doddley connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Penn is looking to slow Doddley down with leg kicks.

Penn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Doddley manages to avoid it.
Doddley lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Doddley.

and Doddley connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Penn takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Penn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Doddley was well out of range. Poor timing from Penn.

Doddley has Penn pressed against the cage, preventing Penn from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Doddley is trying to drag Penn to the mat but Penn just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Doddley has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Penn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Penn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Doddley walks away with a smile on his face. Penn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Penn has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Doddley is proving hard to escape from.
Doddley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Penn trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Doddley stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Nice uppercut lands for Doddley. That snapped Penn's head back.

enabling Doddley to counter with a crisp jab.

Doddley connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Penn momentarily.

Penn is trying to drag Doddley to the mat but Doddley just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Doddley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Doddley has Penn pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Doddley pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Penn tumbling to the mat - Doddley dives into Penn's guard.

Penn with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Doddley to score with a decent uppercut.
Doddley moves in looking to clinch but Penn pushes him off.
Penn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Penn dives in and grabs Doddley's left leg, looking for a takedown. Doddley pushes down on Penn's head and hops out.

Doddley had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Penn is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Doddley Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Penn's back instead.
Penn is trying to get back to his feet but Doddley has full control of the position and if anything, Penn has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Doddley cracks Penn with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Doddley might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Despite being in the dominant position, Bobby Doddley just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Doddley stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Penn looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Bobby Doddley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Doddley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
