Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andre Giant!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giant dives in and grabs Boy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boy pushes down on Giant's head and hops out.

Giant scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Boy is controlling Giant's trapped leg to prevent Giant from advancing to side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Boy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Boy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Giant was covering up waiting for the punch and Boy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Giant can do anything to dispel that myth.
Boy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Giant is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Boy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Giant as he avoids it easily.
Andre Giant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Giant feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Giant really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Giant decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Boy, up you get!

Well Giant has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
