Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Power!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ellis Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Power tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Murphy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A head kick misses from Murphy.
Power shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Murphy is looking to improve his position but Power isn't that keen on the idea.
Power trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Power content just to control the position here.
Murphy swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Murphy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Murphy can't escape the position.
Power wants to control the pace but Murphy is squirming around nicely.
Murphy is wriggling around trying to escape.
Murphy wants to hold on but Power pushes him away.
Murphy is squirming around, avoiding Power's attempts to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Power really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Power is really struggling to control Murphy but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Murphy is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Murphy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Murphy is squirming around, avoiding Power's attempts to control the action.
Murphy sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Murphy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Power pulls his head out easily.
Murphy wants to get back to his feet.
Murphy looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Power drops an elbow to the side of Murphy's head.
Power decides to stand and escape the position.
Power lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Ellis Murphy has been cut.
Horrible takedown by Murphy or perhaps it was just good defense by Power which made him look bad.
Power shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Murphy is working an open guard so Power takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Power closes the distance and clinches.
Power presses Murphy against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Power gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Murphy regains guard.
Power with a nice head shot there.
Murphy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Power decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Power tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Max Power seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
A combination from Power does no damage.
Murphy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Power pinned against the cage. Power gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Murphy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Power moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Power misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Power shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Murphy counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Power keeping moving, preventing Murphy from controlling successfully.
Power looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Murphy is defending well. Power quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Murphy has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Power celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
