Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and go getit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drake kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is FedUp. Mike Drake has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Drake!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake tries to clinch up but getit circles away and keeps his distance.
Drake fails with an attempt to clinch.
Drake shoots in and bounces getit off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
getit is looking to stand up but Drake isn't so interested in that idea.
Drake wants to get up but he can't break getit's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Drake drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and getit dives on top into guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Drake is breathing heavily.
getit trying to control but Drake is working from the bottom.

Drake is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
getit wants to pass the guard but Drake is keeping the position.
Drake working for a triangle but getit defends it easily.
getit slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
getit pushes down on Drake's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Drake tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Drake wants to get back to his feet.

getit landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
getit's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Drake is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but getit pulls his head out easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
getit passes the guard and advances to mount!
getit takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
getit lands with some strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
getit looking to control but Drake is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
getit has hold of Drake's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Drake manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Drake changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. getit tries to avoid it but Drake manages to keep hold of a leg and drag getit to the ground. getit escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from getit.
getit leaves Drake with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Drake's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
getit takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Despite being in the dominant position, go getit just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Drake throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
getit shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. getit showed some decent athleticism there.
getit stands up out of the half guard.

Drake tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but getit paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A head kick misses from getit.
Drake fails to land with a series of punches.
Drake keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
getit tries to close the distance and clinch up but Drake swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
getit connects with a crisp jab.
Drake tries to close the distance and clinch but getit swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Drake. No joy for getit on that attempt.

go getit showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Drake doesn't succeed with the takedown
and getit holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
getit trying to control the position but instead, Drake has worked for underhooks and has pushed getit into the ropes.
getit manages to pull guard.
getit pulls Drake in close to his closed guard and prevents Drake from doing any damage or advancing position.
getit is looking for a triangle but Drake pushes his legs off easily.

Drake stands up over getit, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Drake drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but getit manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Drake has getit in his guard.

Drake had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. getit is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Drake Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take getit's back instead.
getit wants to control his opponent's hands but Drake gets his hands free.
getit tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Drake landing strikes from the mount and getit is in trouble!
getit tries to control Drake's body but Drake pushes him off. getit squirms to his side and now Drake has his back!

getit defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Drake's arms.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
getit closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Drake to the mat! Drake manages to get full guard.

Drake bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Drake tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Drake has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Drake is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and getit defends it well.
getit is looking to control Drake's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can getit avoid being mounted?

Well getit has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
