Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dee Bag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dee Bag!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bag tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bag bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A combination from Grant does no damage.
Bag wants to clinch.
Bag scores with a nice strike.
Bag checks a leg kick.
Grant looks to score with a jab to the body but Bag is just out of range.

Bag closes the distance and pushes Grant back into the cage.

Bag breaks the clinch.

Grant closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bag did well to prevent Grant getting side control.

Grant is looking for a kimura here.

Bag is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Grant pulls his head out easily.
Grant is trying to control the action in half guard but Bag is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Bag is looking for a sweep. Grant is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Grant missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Grant controlling the pace.

Grant stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Bag dodges the punch combination from Grant.
Grant is looking to clinch.
Bag shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grant as he avoids it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A combination from Grant does no damage.
Bag misses with a head kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bag, as that shot connected.
Grant throws a one two combo.


It looks like Dee Bag has been cut.
Grant closes the distance and clinches up with Bag, looking for a takedown. Grant pushes Bag against the cage but Bag circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bag pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bag fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bag throws a sloppy head kick and Grant moves out of range easily.
Grant misses with the combination.

Grant drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bag looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bag looks gassed!
Grant lands a couple of elbows.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Grant got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bag has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Grant has managed to get both his arms back between Bag's legs - danger averted.

Bag escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Grant gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Grant thows a big elbow that misses.
Grant trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Grant postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Grant throwing strikes from guard but Bag blocks nicely.

Bag is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Grant shoots and misses
and Bag connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Grant tries to bum rush Bag with a series of wild strikes but Bag uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Grant tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Grant fails to land with a series of punches.
Grant thows a body shot but no joy.
A cross from Grant lands.
Grant throws a leg kick but Bag moved away.
Grant throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bag on the side of the head.
A combination from Bag does no damage.
Bag throws a head kick that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Grant tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Grant throws a series of punches but Bag moves out of range.
Grant lands with a right hand.
A lazy left from Grant finds it's target.
Grant tries to clinch but Bag moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Grant dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Dee Bag's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Crunch! Grant slams his shin into Bag's torso.
Bag takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Grant misses with a double jab

and Bag counters by moving into the clinch.
Grant lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Bag cracks Grant with a nice body shot.
Bag wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Grant has him pressed against the cage.

Grant escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No joy there for Grant, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Grant misses with the combination.
Bag throws a series of punches but Grant moves out of range.
Grant throws out a loose jab but Bag uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bag takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Grant is looking to clinch but Bag is avoiding it.
Grant throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Grant pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Grant throws a right hand that Bag ducks under and follows up with a left that Bag also avoids with ease.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bag has closed the distance and engaged Grant in a clinch.

Bag pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Marcus Grant is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bag is breathing heavily.
Bag swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Grant counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Bag avoids the body shot from Grant.
Bag tries a head kick but it misses.
Bag will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bag pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bag throws a right and a left that both miss.
Grant lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Grant.

Grant falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bag counters with a body kick that stops Grant in his tracks momentarily.
Grant tries to close the distance and clinch but Bag swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bag moves out of range of the body kick.
Grant uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bag is still on wobbly legs! Can Grant finish him?
Grant looks to throw the jab but Bag is out of range.
Bag seems to have recovered his senses.
Grant tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bag paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bag avoids the head kick by Grant.
Grant tries to clinch but Bag moves out of range.
Marcus Grant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grant tries to bum rush Bag with a series of wild strikes but Bag uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bag works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Grant will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Grant tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bag swivels and escapes.

Bag with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bag scores with a kick to the midsection.
Grant takes a kick to the side of the head.
Bag plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Bag cracks the inside of Grant's front leg.
Bag throws a head kick that half lands.
A good leg kick by Bag.
Grant tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Grant takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Bag lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bag misses with a straight left.
Grant throws a lazy head kick
and Bag counters with a good low kick that Grant was not able to check.
Grant tries to clinch but Bag moves away

and Bag counters with a single leg into guard. Grant didn't expect that.

Grant is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Grant has his feet on Bag's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Grant catches Bag with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Grant throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Grant throws a lazy right hand but Bag sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Grant cracks Bag with a good jab.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcus Grant will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Dee Bag's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Bag throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Grant blocks it with crossed arms.

Bag manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bag is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Grant wants to get up but he can't break Bag's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bag trying to keep a closed guard but Grant is proving a slippery customer.

Bag is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grant decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bag, up you get!

Bag uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Grant.
Bag has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Bag pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Grant sizes up Bag with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Grant works over Bag's head and body with a nice combination.
Bag throws a nice looking combination but Grant bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Grant throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Bag.
Grant throws a head kick that misses.
Grant throws a hook but Bag blocks it.
A nice combination there by Grant.
Grant throws a right hand that Bag ducks under and follows up with a left that Bag also avoids with ease.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Bag counters with a shoot takedown. Grant fights it but they end up in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Grant bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bag's guard.

Bag wants to sweep but no luck.

Bag has an active guard here but Grant has managed to pass into half guard.
Marcus Grant is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Marcus Grant showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Grant, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
