Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William H Bonney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonney is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Billy Get Your Guns. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Vargas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William H Bonney! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vargas looks to throw the jab but Bonney is out of range. Bonney is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Bonney moves into the clinch. Bonney's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Vargas is looking to break free of the clinch but Bonney has double underhooks. Bonney misses with an elbow over the top. Vargas wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Bonney lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Vargas is staying active underneath Bonney, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Bonney is working for a submission of some sort.
Vargas wants to improve his position but Bonney is controlling well.
Bonney is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vargas is just riding it out for now. Bonney eventually gives up the hold. Vargas wants to control but Bonney is keeping busy and won't allow it. Bonney is trying to control. Vargas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Vargas trying to hold on to Bonney's head to control him but Bonney postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vargas wants to get back to full guard but Bonney has mounted him! Bonney working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Vargas can't escape the position.
Vargas defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bonney. Vargas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bonney on the ground. Bonney pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Bonney sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Vargas is working to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bonney has control of Vargas's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Vargas regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Vargas tries to reverse the position but Bonney maintains control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bonney has control of Vargas's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Vargas regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bonney looks gassed! Bonney avoids the attempt from Vargas to control. Vargas is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bonney wants to finish this one by submission but Vargas is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bonney. Vargas is trying desperately to improve position. Vargas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Bonney is going olschool here, as he tries to force Vargas to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Vargas shrugs it off. Bonney has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bonney working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Bonney is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Vargas has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Bonney misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Vargas tries to reverse the position but Bonney maintains control. Bonney fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Bonney prevents Vargas from getting the reversal. Bonney lands a heavy elbow. Vargas tries to lock up and control but Bonney gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Vargas can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bonney has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Vargas is forced to tap!
