Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeffrey Bourdeau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stephen Parker! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bourdeau bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Oh, that's a big right hand from Parker and Bourdeau goes tumbling to the canvas! Parker follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
It looks like Jeffrey Bourdeau has been cut. Bourdeau is trying to maintain the position but Parker is very close to passing his half guard. Parker wants to take a breather but Bourdeau is having none of it. Bourdeau looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Bourdeau wants to improve his position but Parker is controlling well.
Bourdeau is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Parker pulls his head out easily. Bourdeau wants to control but Parker is keeping busy.
Parker sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bourdeau defending well though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Parker dodges the punch combination from Bourdeau.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parker misses the jab. Parker is looking to clinch. Parker misses with a straight right. Bourdeau avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Parker looks to throw the jab but Bourdeau is out of range. Parker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bourdeau was well out of range. Poor timing from Parker. Parker pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Parker catches Bourdeau with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Parker misses with an uppercut. Bourdeau saw that one coming. Parker changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Bourdeau is looking to take this fight into the clinch. An inside leg kick from Parker misses. Parker fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bourdeau checks it well. Parker jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parker looks for the body kick but Bourdeau saw that one coming. Bourdeau stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Parker. Bourdeau is breathing heavily. Parker with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A leg kick checked by Bourdeau. Parker throws a lazy right hand but Bourdeau sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Parker throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bourdeau. Parker connects with a jab. Parker stuffs the takedown. Parker cracks Bourdeau with a hook to the temple - Bourdeau is on wobbly legs here! Parker swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Bourdeau falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Parker wins by TKO!
