Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Blake Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phillips's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Welcome Home by Coheed & Cambria. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Blake Phillips! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Cote! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Phillips shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cote defends it nicely. Richard Cote seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cote lands a really nice looking cross but Phillips seems unphased.
Cote bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Phillips's head backwards. Phillips tries to clinch there but Cote circles away.
Cote misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cote fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Left hook, right uppercut from Cote. Cote tries to clinch but fails miserably and Phillips counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cote's guard now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cote looking for a sweep. Not yet Cote, not yet. Cote manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Phillips manages to get himself to full guard.
Phillips is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Phillips is breathing heavily. Phillips working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cote doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cote manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cote trying to control but Phillips is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote stays in close to Phillips's body and controls the position. Cote postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Cote content to stall in guard here. Cote postures up in Phillips's guard and throws a big left but Phillips blocks it. Cote is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cote has gone for a leg lock! Phillips slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cote's guard. Phillips tries to free his leg and advance position but Cote is retaining full guard. Cote looking to hit a scissor sweep but Phillips is one step ahead there. Cote is looking for a triangle but Phillips pushes his legs off easily.
Phillips wants to control from the top but Cote keeps moving. Cote looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Phillips puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cote is staying active underneath Phillips, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cote gets full guard. Phillips is posturing up here but Cote has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Phillips tries to roll out but it's too tight and Phillips has to tap! Slick submission there by Cote!
