PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josef Gobbels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cracky Jerky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gobbels closes the distance and clinches.
Gobbels landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Jerky keeps control of Gobbels as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Gobbels lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Jerky escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jerky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gobbels.
A right-left combo lands from Gobbels.
Gobbels will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jerky misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gobbels buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Jerky shoots in but no luck this time.
Jerky fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Jerky throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gobbels's waist but Gobbels gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jerky off to one side.

Jerky stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gobbels swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Gobbels shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gobbels was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gobbels really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jerky is desperately trying to improve his position but Gobbels has a good base and remains in mount.
