Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Tavares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tavares has chosen Fight Music as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brian Wright! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paulo Tavares! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wright fails with the takedown. Wright scores with a takedown into Tavares's guard. Tavares is trying to keep Wright in close.
Tavares tries to land a sweep but no joy. Wright being controlled here momentarily. Wright has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tavares is proving hard to escape from. Wright wants to control from the top but Tavares keeps moving. Tavares pushes Wright off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tavares tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wright sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tavares somewhat. Tavares throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wright. Wright rushes Tavares and presses him up against the cage. Wright jumps guard and drags Tavares to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tavares gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Wright lands a head kick!
It looks like Paulo Tavares has been cut. Wright moves out of range as Tavares strikes. Wright moves in looking to clinch but Tavares pushes him off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tavares closes the distance and clinches. Tavares on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Wright pressing his opponent against the cage. Wright gets control of Tavares's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wright will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Tavares is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Tavares wants to control from the top but Wright keeps moving. Wright escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tavares gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wright keeping moving, preventing Tavares from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tavares chips away with some ground and pound. Tavares scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Wright has his foot on Tavares's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tavares works his way back into a safe position though. Wright is breathing heavily. Tavares would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tavares swings for the body but Wright moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wright. Tavares throws out a loose jab but Wright uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wright moves out of range as Tavares strikes. Tavares looks to land a combination but Wright avoids it well. Wright moves out of range as Tavares strikes. Tavares shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wright as he avoids it easily. Tavares scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Wright is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Tavares stalling. Tavares decides to stand and escape the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Brian Wright will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Paulo Tavares's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Wright shoots in and bounces Tavares off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Wright wants to control from the top but Tavares keeps moving. Tavares throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Wright pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tavares is keeping the position for now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tavares trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Tavares manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
BOOM! Tavares connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wright tries to control the position but Tavares now has his back.
Tavares lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Wright.
Tavares is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Wright has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tavares throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Tavares controls the action. Tavares misses with punches from the back. Tavares avoiding Wright 's attempts to control his hands. Tavares looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Wright grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Tavares scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Wright is looking for a way out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tavares trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Wright doesn't escape. Wright looking very determined here, making life difficult for Tavares.
Wright trying to control the position but Tavares manages to sink in the hooks. Wright defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Tavares's arms. Tavares is trying to stick to Wright's back but Wright is turning into Tavares. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Tavares's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Wright. Wright wants to get up but he can't break Tavares's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wright avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wright throws a strike but Tavares rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Wright wants to sweep but no luck. Tavares postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Wright keeping moving, preventing Tavares from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tavares controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paulo Tavares showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Paulo Tavares's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Wright misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Tavares misses with a body kick. Tavares tests Wright's chin there with a solid looking shot. Tavares slaps away a takedown attempt from Wright, before circling back to the center of the mat. Tavares has his takedown stuffed and Wright counters with a shoot takedown. Tavares fights it but they end up in guard. Tavares looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wright is one step ahead there. Wright throwing strikes but missing. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tavares swivels though and keeps the full guard. Tavares lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wright! Tavares controlling from the full mount. Tavares raining down shots from the mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Tavares sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Wright is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Tavares looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Wright swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright is trying desperately to improve position. The referee warns Wright that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Tavares cracks Wright with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tavares lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Tavares landing shots from mount. Tavares controlling the pace for now. Tavares avoids the attempt from Wright to control. Tavares moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Wright has worked his arm free - good work by Wright!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wright tries to improve position but can't. Tavares taking a breather here. Tavares stands up and beckons Wright to his feet. No joy there for Wright, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Paulo Tavares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wright wants to clinch but Tavares slips to the side and Tavares counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Paulo Tavares comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Tavares has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
