Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright fails with the takedown.

Tavares is trying to keep Wright in close.

Wright moves in looking to clinch but Tavares pushes him off.

Wright throws a strike but Tavares rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wright stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tavares swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tavares cracks Wright with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tavares lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Tavares moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Wright has worked his arm free - good work by Wright!

No joy there for Wright, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Paulo Tavares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Tavares counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Paulo Tavares comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Tavares has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
