Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jessica Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, luis rivera!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lesnar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

rivera looking for a guillotine here but Lesnar defends easily.

rivera throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Lesnar is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lesnar stands and throws rivera's legs to the side, diving into side control.
rivera tries to bench press Lesnar off him but Lesnar keeps the position.
rivera looks gassed!

Lesnar tries to advance to mount but can't.
Lesnar looking to control but instead rivera has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Lesnar trying to control from half guard but rivera is working away.
Lesnar performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lesnar wants to take a breather but rivera is having none of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
rivera is trying to control but can't.
Lesnar tries to pass the half guard into mount. rivera knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lesnar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lesnar wants to take a breather but rivera manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Lesnar.
Lesnar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Lesnar throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Lesnar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lesnar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lesnar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

and Lesnar counters with a single leg into guard. rivera didn't expect that.

Lesnar stands up from rivera's guard - Lesnar perhaps looking for a knockout.
Lesnar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Lesnar shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. rivera manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
rivera wants to control but Lesnar passes easily into half guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lesnar wants to free his trapped foot but rivera is holding on for dear life with his legs.

rivera is looking for a sweep. Lesnar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lesnar wants to control but rivera is keeping him busy.
Lesnar is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
rivera is doing well to control the position and prevent Lesnar from advancing to side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
rivera is looking to control Lesnar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can rivera avoid being mounted?

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
rivera has his takedown stuffed

and Lesnar counters with a shoot takedown. rivera fights it but they end up in guard.
Lesnar postures up.

Lesnar stands and steps away. rivera gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Jessica Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of luis rivera.
rivera throws a sloppy head kick and Lesnar moves out of range easily.

Lesnar is looking to clinch but rivera is avoiding it.

Lesnar shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches rivera napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Lesnar thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
rivera is looking for a sweep.
Lesnar is looking to take a break and control but rivera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lesnar blocks the strikes from rivera.

Lesnar throwing strikes but rivera manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
rivera wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lesnar keeps working.

rivera prevents Lesnar from improving his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
rivera lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jessica Lesnar dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Lesnar jabbing away but nothing is landing.

rivera gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lesnar stands up and waves to rivera to follow him.

rivera clinches.
Lesnar fails to pull the fight into his guard.

rivera pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lesnar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

rivera forces Lesnar back against the cage and clinches.
rivera jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lesnar walks away with a smile on his face. rivera gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lesnar lands a nice shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lesnar scores with a takedown into rivera's guard.
rivera wants to sweep but no luck.
Lesnar trying to control the position from guard on top but rivera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
rivera wants to get back to his feet but Lesnar is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
rivera looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
rivera is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Lesnar passes rivera's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
rivera wants to control but Lesnar is keeping busy.
Lesnar looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
rivera moves into full guard.
Lesnar wants to control from the top but rivera keeps moving.

rivera looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lesnar is one step ahead there.
rivera is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lesnar controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
rivera is controlling Lesnar's posture.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

rivera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lesnar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lesnar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. rivera is keeping the position for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lesnar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but rivera moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jessica Lesnar showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lesnar, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
