Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Mark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taneli Haapavaara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Mark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Taneli Haapavaara!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mark loads up on a big right hand but Haapavaara slips the punch.
Haapavaara misses with an uppercut. Mark saw that one coming.
Haapavaara keeps the fight on the outside.
Mark looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Haapavaara is fending him off so far but Mark persists. Nope, Haapavaara circles away and we're back to standing.
Haapavaara dodges the punch combination from Mark.
Mark misses with a takedown attempt - Haapavaara sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mark fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Mark. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mark fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Haapavaara manages to avoid it.
Mark tried to score with a low kick but Haapavaara checks it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mark shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Haapavaara sprawls well. Haapavaara wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mark gets slowly back to his feet.

and Haapavaara counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mark gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Haapavaara counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Haapavaara would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Haapavaara stands and steps away. Mark gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

John Mark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Haapavaara darts in and clinches Mark up against the cage.

Well Haapavaara has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
