The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krakemheds avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alves throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Krakemheds.
Krakemheds shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Alves sprawls well. Alves wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Krakemheds gets slowly back to his feet.
Alves keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Krakemheds.
Alves throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Alves throws a series of punches but Krakemheds avoids them all with ease.
Nice uppercut lands for Krakemheds. That snapped Alves's head back.

Krakemheds looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Krakemheds pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alves is keeping the position for now.
Alves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Krakemheds. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Krakemheds works a leg free and moves into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alves can do anything to dispel that myth.
Alves looks like he's trying to stand up.

Krakemheds seems to be looking for submissions.
