Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bonza Banks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, FAISAL SANCHEZ! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Banks throws a low kick but it's checked well by SANCHEZ. A big left from Banks misses. SANCHEZ is looking to chop away at Banks's legs. Banks ducks under a wild hook from SANCHEZ. SANCHEZ fails with an attempt to clinch.
Banks looks for a takedown but SANCHEZ sprawls well. Banks takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
It looks like Bonza Banks has been cut. Bonza Banks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Banks tries to clinch but SANCHEZ is having none of it. SANCHEZ staying out of range there. SANCHEZ uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Banks.
SANCHEZ moves away from the strike by Banks. Banks throws out a leg kick but SANCHEZ moves out of range and Banks only half commits. Banks looks to clinch and SANCHEZ counters with a head kick. Donk. Banks catches SANCHEZ right on the button with a cross. SANCHEZ shoots in but Banks avoids the takedown attempt easily. Banks shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with SANCHEZ but SANCHEZ pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banks looks to score with a jab to the body but SANCHEZ is just out of range. SANCHEZ throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Banks moves out of range of the body kick. SANCHEZ circles away from the clinch attempt and SANCHEZ counters with a head kick. Banks moves in looking to clinch but SANCHEZ pushes him off. SANCHEZ fails in his attempt to clinch. SANCHEZ tries to bum rush Banks with a series of wild strikes but Banks uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Banks leaves SANCHEZ with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Banks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. SANCHEZ keeping full guard, as Banks tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Banks stays in close to SANCHEZ's body and controls the position. Banks trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. SANCHEZ working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Banks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Banks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Banks trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Banks's corner is telling him to maintain position. Banks has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. SANCHEZ looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Banks postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Banks wants to pass the guard but SANCHEZ is keeping the position. SANCHEZ wants to stand up but Banks is controlling him. SANCHEZ being controlled here, momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but FAISAL SANCHEZ will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Bonza Banks's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Banks fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but SANCHEZ is out of range. Banks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but SANCHEZ manages to avoid it. Horrible takedown by Banks or perhaps it was just good defense by SANCHEZ which made him look bad. SANCHEZ shoots in but no luck this time. Banks throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Banks throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Banks tries to close the distance and clinch up but SANCHEZ swats him away and circles back towards the center. Banks throws a sloppy head kick and SANCHEZ moves out of range easily. Banks shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. SANCHEZ defends it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. SANCHEZ looks for a takedown but Banks sprawls well. SANCHEZ moves in looking to clinch but Banks pushes him off. Banks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but SANCHEZ manages to avoid it. The fighters circling - Banks throws out the jab but it was never going to land. SANCHEZ tries to clinch up. FAISAL SANCHEZ is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Banks avoids the head kick by SANCHEZ.
Banks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
SANCHEZ lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Banks circles away quickly and effectively. SANCHEZ is breathing heavily. Banks darts in trying to clinch and SANCHEZ moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Banks keeps the fight in the clinch, despite SANCHEZ's efforts to push away. SANCHEZ can't get the takedown.
Bonza Banks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of FAISAL SANCHEZ. SANCHEZ tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Banks smiles and moves away.
SANCHEZ misses with a head kick.
SANCHEZ avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Banks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A solid body kick from SANCHEZ.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Banks jabs SANCHEZ right on the nose. SANCHEZ blinks but takes it well. Banks throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Banks avoids the body shot from SANCHEZ.
Banks moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. A punch combination from Banks misses. Banks drops SANCHEZ with a straight right hand, right on the button! Banks follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bonza Banks!
