The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Mills lands a big uppercut and Landes crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Landes looks OK. Mills waves Landes back to his feet!

It looks like Jonny Landes has been cut.
Mills lands a slapping body shot.

Mills throws a body punch but Landes moves out of range.
Jonny Landes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Landes tries to bum rush Mills with a series of wild strikes but Mills uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Landes has momentary wrist control but Mills slips an elbow through the middle.

Mills stands up over Landes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Mills is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Landes is just riding it out for now. Mills eventually gives up the hold.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mills lands a nice short elbow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mills closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Landes to the mat! Landes manages to get full guard.
Mills distracts Landes with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Mills is looking to work some ground and pound but Landes has wrist control.

Landes controls Mills momentarily but Mills frees himself.

Mills stands up from Landes's guard - Mills perhaps looking for a knockout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mills lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Landes circles away quickly and effectively.
Mills shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Landes sprawls well. Landes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mills gets slowly back to his feet.
Mills misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Landes throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Landes lands with a kick to the temple. Mills shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Landes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mills's guard.
Mills wants to sweep but no luck.
Mills is trying to control the position but Landes postures up.

Mills is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Mills has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mills lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Landes!
Landes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mills on the ground.
Landes tries to reverse the position but Mills maintains control.

Mills lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Landes is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mills softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Landes is out cold! Mills jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
