Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate Emerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jayson Stuart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Stuart's choice of entrance music: "Go Getta" - Young Jeezy. On his way into the cage it seems that Nate Emerson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nate Emerson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nate Emerson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jayson Stuart! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emerson tries to clinch but Stuart is having none of it. Emerson is looking to land body kicks. Emerson clinches up against the cage. Stuart looking for a takedown. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Emerson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Emerson throws an elbow that misses.
Stuart misses with a knee strike.
Emerson slows down the pace here.
Stuart tries to land a knee to the head but Emerson blocks with his arms.
Stuart lands a nice knee to the body. Emerson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Stuart is in close to Emerson's body, working some short punches and elbows. Emerson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Emerson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Emerson trying to keep a closed guard but Stuart is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emerson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Emerson wants to sweep here but Stuart controlling him for the moment. Emerson is pulling down on Stuart's head to control his posture. Stuart tries to free his leg and advance position but Emerson is retaining full guard. Emerson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Emerson closes the distance and clinches. Stuart throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Emerson blocks it with crossed arms. Emerson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Stuart tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Stuart throws a knee to the head but misses.
Stuart jumps into guard, dragging Emerson to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stuart has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Emerson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Emerson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Emerson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Emerson preventing the sweep. Emerson thows a big elbow that misses. Stuart looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Stuart looks gassed! Emerson is working Stuart over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Stuart controlling Emerson's posture. Emerson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Emerson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Emerson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Stuart really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emerson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Stuart keeping moving, preventing Emerson from controlling successfully. Emerson sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stuart preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Stuart not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Emerson stands and steps away. Stuart gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stuart throws a head kick that misses. Jayson Stuart is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Emerson takes a swing at Stuart's ribcage but misses. Emerson shoots in and drives through. Stuart sprawls well. Emerson doesn't manage to clinch there - Stuart circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stuart fails in his attempt to clinch. Emerson is looking to clinch. Emerson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stuart circles away quickly and effectively. Emerson clinches. Emerson is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Stuart is keeping busy. Stuart with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Stuart is pressed up against the cage. Emerson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Stuart down to the mat. Stuart avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Stuart tries to clinch but fails miserably and Emerson counters by clinching up.

Emerson is trying to force a seperation but Stuart has the dominant position. Emerson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stuart smiles and moves away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stuart looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Emerson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Emerson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Emerson is on top in guard.

Stuart closes the distance looking to clinch and Emerson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Emerson trying to control but Stuart is working from the bottom. Emerson throws a wild body kick that Stuart sees coming a mile off. Stuart tries to clinch there but Emerson circles away.
Stuart darts in trying to clinch and Emerson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stuart's guard. Nate Emerson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Emerson stands up and waves to Stuart to follow him. Emerson tries to clinch but Stuart moves out of range. Emerson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Emerson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Stuart wants to improve his position but Emerson is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stuart avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Emerson. Emerson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Stuart slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Stuart keeping moving, preventing Emerson from controlling successfully. Emerson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Emerson throws a big right hand that misses. Emerson throwing strikes from guard but Stuart blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Emerson passes Stuart's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Emerson seems to be working for a kimura but Stuart defends the submission attempt. Emerson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Stuart stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stuart wants it to stay on the feet. Emerson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stuart circles away. Stuart displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Emerson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nate Emerson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stuart closes the distance and clinches. Stuart lands a nice knee to the body. Emerson tries to break the clinch but Stuart is controlling the position. Stuart misses with a knee to the head. Emerson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Stuart.

Nate Emerson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Stuart unloads a knee to the mid-section. Emerson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Stuart using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Nate Emerson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Emerson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
