Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jokke Jakobsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fred Liddel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jokke Jakobsson!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jakobsson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Liddel avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jakobsson throws a lazy right hand but Liddel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Liddel scores a takedown into full mount!
Jakobsson wants to hold on but Liddel pushes him away.
Jakobsson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Liddel landing strikes, looking to finish!

Jakobsson is squirming around, avoiding Liddel's attempts to control the action.

Liddel wants to pass the guard but Jakobsson is defending well.
Jakobsson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Liddel is working away from the top position though.
Jakobsson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Liddel jumps into side control!

Liddel stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Liddel stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Jakobsson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jakobsson throws a hook but Liddel avoids it easily.
Jakobsson darts in trying to clinch
and Liddel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Jakobsson lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Liddel sprawling to the canvas. Jakobsson follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Liddel hang on?


It looks like Fred Liddel has been cut.
Jakobsson uses his free foot to push down on Liddel's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Liddel.
Liddel's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Jakobsson looking for a guillotine from mount but Liddel is having none of it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jakobsson trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Jakobsson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Liddel is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jakobsson is looking for a triangle but Liddel pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jakobsson looking for a guillotine here but Liddel defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jokke Jakobsson will probably get the nod.

Jakobsson throws a left and a right that both miss

and Liddel moves into the clinch.
Jakobsson jumps guard but Liddel stands there with Jakobsson around his waist. Jakobsson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Come on Liddel - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Jakobsson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Liddel just stands there and leans against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Fred Liddel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jokke Jakobsson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jakobsson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Liddel just stands there and leans against the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Liddel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Liddel showed some decent athleticism there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jakobsson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Liddel has picked Jakobsson up and slammed him! Jakobsson can't keep hold of the triangle and Liddel manages to pass to side control!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Jakobsson gets control of Liddel's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jakobsson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Jakobsson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Liddel is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jakobsson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Liddel's back instead.
Liddel is holding onto Jakobsson's left hand, preventing any choke attempts.

Jakobsson doesn't have the hooks in and Liddel manages to turn into his guard.

Jakobsson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Liddel escapes and throws Jakobsson's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Liddel advances nicely into full mount.

Jakobsson tries to hold on but Liddel pushes him away.

Jakobsson tries to lock up and control but Liddel gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Liddel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jakobsson is looking to escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jakobsson is working to get back to half guard.
Liddel avoids the attempt from Jakobsson to control.
Jakobsson is controlling an arm, preventing Liddel from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Jakobsson wants to control but Liddel is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jakobsson is trying desperately to improve position.
