Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gomez Adams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Trades! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trades lands the left hand. Adams shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Trades is trying to defend but Adams finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Adams prevents Trades from standing back up.
Adams is nestled in close to Trades, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Adams controlling the action here. Trades is trying to stand back up but Adams is controlling him
Trades taking some punishment here, with Adams in his half guard. Adams throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Trades is refusing to be controlled, as Adams sits in half guard. Trades tries to get to full guard but Adams has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adams wants to work for an arm triangle but Trades is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Adams works his way into full mount! Adams looking to control but Trades is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Trades can't escape the position.
Adams is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Trades has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Adams prevents Trades from getting the reversal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Adams goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Trades is on top in guard.
Adams keeping full guard, as Trades tries to pass. Adams controls Trades momentarily but Trades frees himself. Trades tries to stand but Adams is controlling from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adams looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Trades wants to stand but Adams has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Adams kicks Trades off and gets to his feet. Adams throws a low kick but Trades avoids it. Trades throws a head kick that misses. Trades misses with a series of wild punches.
Trades pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Trades avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Trades throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Trades tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jack Trades is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Some wild striking there from Trades.
Trades takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Trades looks gassed! Trades throws a head kick but Adams moves out of range.
Trades takes a body punch but keeps moving. Adams works over Trades's head and body with a nice combination. Adams clinches. Trades goes for a takedown in the clinch but Adams prevents it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Adams lands a takedown into guard.
Adams works a leg free and moves into half guard. Adams missing with the ground and pound from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gomez Adams dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Adams moves into the clinch. Trades has Adams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Adams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Adams pulls guard effortlessly. Adams has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Trades wants to stand but Adams is controlling his posture from full guard. Trades is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adams controls Trades momentarily but Trades frees himself. Trades wants to control from the top but Adams keeps moving. Trades stands and throws Adams's legs to the side, diving into side control. Adams is looking to reverse the position.

Adams sneaks out the side door and pushes Trades away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Adams throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Trades was covering up waiting for the punch and Adams finishes the takedown easily into guard. Trades looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Adams passes easily into side control. Nice work. Trades tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Adams wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Trades takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Adams tries for a kimura but Trades is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Adams thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trades is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Adams's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Adams is looking to take a break and control but Trades is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Adams looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Trades pushes Adams off looking to stand but Adams dives back in and keeps control.

Adams looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Trades is defending against the submission attempts here by Adams.
Adams is pressing down on Trades's thigh, looking to free his foot. Trades is holding on for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gomez Adams dominated that second round. That's time! Adams's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Trades connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Adams with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Trades to score with a decent uppercut. Trades throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Trades drops Adams with a big left hand! Adams is injured, injured bad! Trades jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
