Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitri Mitia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emilo Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chavez has chosen Slipknot---Psychosocial as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dmitri Mitia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Emilo Chavez! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chavez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mitia napping and manages to drive through into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mitia manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Chavez is looking for a kimura but Mitia is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chavez to get the leverage. Mitia is looking to improve his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Chavez just misses with a punch to the body.
Mitia takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Chavez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Chavez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mitia is working hard here to advance position. He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Mitia is working to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Chavez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Chavez throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Chavez lands with a punch from half guard. Chavez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mitia keeping moving, preventing Chavez from controlling successfully. Chavez is looking to work some ground and pound but Mitia has wrist control. Chavez throwing strikes but missing. Mitia preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mitia swinging wilding here.

Mitia misses with a low kick. Mitia shoots for a double leg takedown but Chavez sprawls well. He's pushed Mitia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mitia throws a good cross that connects.
Chavez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Chavez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Chavez stopping the sweep attempt from Mitia. Mitia controls Chavez momentarily but Chavez frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Chavez is staying active underneath Mitia, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Mitia missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Emilo Chavez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Chavez is wriggling around trying to escape but Mitia has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Chavez taps out and Mitia picks up the big win!
