Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ace Whole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ace Whole!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whole fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Whole holds on and takes a little breather.
Whole keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
Johnson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Whole is proving hard to escape from.
Whole seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Whole can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Johnson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johnson lands in his opponent's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Whole is on top in guard.
Whole works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Whole's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Whole fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Johnson sprawls well initially but Whole persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

A close round but Ace Whole will probably get the nod.

Let's hope that Whole has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Whole makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Whole.

Whole is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Johnson off and has taken his back!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Whole!
Nick Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Johnson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Johnson takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Johnson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Whole knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Whole for a finish.

Johnson is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Johnson gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Johnson gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Johnson apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Nick Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ace Whole.

Johnson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Johnson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Whole's guard.

Nick Johnson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Johnson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
