Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Morozov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tazz Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Morozov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bassie en Adriaan. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andrei Morozov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tazz Stevens! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevens displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Morozov throws out the jab. Stevens fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Morozov throws a leg kick but Stevens sees it coming and moves out of range. Morozov scoring well with a low kick there.
A good leg kick by Morozov. Morozov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stevens moves away. Horrible takedown by Stevens or perhaps it was just good defense by Morozov which made him look bad. Morozov misses with a hook. Stevens ducked under it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morozov tries a head kick but it misses.
Morozov jabbing away but nothing is landing. An inside leg kick from Morozov misses. Morozov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Stevens is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Morozov's half guard. Morozov regains full guard. Nicely done. Stevens pushes down on Morozov's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stevens wants to pass the guard but Morozov is defending well. Morozov wants to improve his position but Stevens is controlling well.
Stevens tries to pass the half guard into mount. Morozov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Stevens is looking for a kimura here.
Morozov is pressing down on Stevens's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Stevens tries to free his leg and advance position but Morozov is retaining full guard. Morozov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Stevens checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morozov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Morozov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Morozov misses with a few strikes there.
Morozov throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Nice defenses there by Stevens. Morozov throws a head kick but Stevens moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Morozov lands a big head kick that sends Stevens tumbling to the mat! Morozov takes a step backwards and waves Stevens back to his feet - he wants the finish! Morozov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stevens shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Stevens showed some decent athleticism there. Stevens moves into full mount! Morozov won't be happy about that! Stevens has hold of Morozov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Morozov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Stevens fails to advance to Morozov's back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stevens darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Morozov trying to control here.
Stevens wants to pass the guard but Morozov is defending well. The fighters are battling for position here. Morozov manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stevens has gone for a leg lock! Morozov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stevens's guard. Morozov wants to stand but Stevens is controlling his posture from full guard. Stevens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Morozov's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens looking to pass the guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Stevens passes easily into side control. Nice work. Stevens is breathing heavily. Morozov tries to buck Stevens off but Stevens is having none of it. Stevens is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Morozov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Morozov is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Stevens's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Morozov is trying to get back to full guard. Stevens is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Stevens wants to free his trapped foot but Morozov is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Morozov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stevens pulls his head out easily. Morozov won't allow Stevens to pass to mount. Morozov gets back to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stevens avoids a kick to the body.
Morozov lands a with a good body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevens uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Morozov. Morozov throws a head kick that misses. Morozov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Morozov fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Stevens checks it well. Stevens takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Horrible takedown by Stevens or perhaps it was just good defense by Morozov which made him look bad. A head kick misses from Morozov.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Stevens blocks a low kick nicely. Morozov throws a head kick that misses. Morozov lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Morozov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Morozov misses with an uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrei Morozov dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Morozov did well to prevent Stevens getting side control. Stevens seems to be working for a kimura but Morozov defends the submission attempt. Morozov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stevens seems to be looking for submissions.
Stevens takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Morozov wants to control but Stevens is keeping busy.

Stevens shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Morozov defends it nicely. Morozov throws the left hand but Stevens avoids the punch easily. Morozov finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Tazz Stevens has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morozov looks to score with a jab to the body but Stevens is just out of range. Stevens throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Stevens avoids the head kick by Morozov.
Andrei Morozov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Morozov pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Morozov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Stevens looking to pass the guard. Morozov working a defensive guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andrei Morozov. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Morozov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
