Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Janus Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by the Offspring - Beheaded. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
It looks like Janus Cross has been cut.
Davis misses with the combination.
Cross scores a takedown into full mount!
Davis is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Davis is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Cross trying to control but he's not successful this time.
You get the feeling that Davis really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Cross jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Davis is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Davis and Cross has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ground and pound from Cross seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Cross working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Davis is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Cross is controlling him well.

Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Davis is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.

Davis is pushing Cross's head away, looking to escape. Cross manages to hold on to the position though.

Davis sneaks out the side door and pushes Cross away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Cross shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davis but Davis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Cross drops back, looking for a kneebar! Davis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Davis looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Davis!

Davis might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cross is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Davis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
