Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Lorusso! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Godlewski! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lorusso leaves Godlewski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Lorusso bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lorusso taking a breather here. Godlewski wants to control but Lorusso postures up. Godlewski is looking to regain half guard here but Lorusso keeps moving and retains side control. Godlewski wants to control but Lorusso postures up. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lorusso tries to clinch but Godlewski is having none of it. Lorusso shoots and misses and Godlewski counters with a big head kick but Lorusso shrugs it off. Lorusso darts in trying to clinch and Godlewski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Godlewski prevents Lorusso from improving his position. Lorusso is trying to stand up here but Godlewski is controlling him well. Lorusso trying to control but Godlewski postures up.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lorusso is trying to escape the mount.
Lorusso is breathing heavily. Lorusso is squirming around, avoiding Godlewski's attempts to control the action. Godlewski controlling the pace for now. Godlewski wants to take Lorusso's back here but Lorusso is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Godlewski will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lorusso keeping moving, preventing Godlewski from controlling successfully. Lorusso is working an open guard so Godlewski takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Godlewski shoots in for a takedown but Lorusso shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jason Lorusso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Godlewski. Godlewski tries to bum rush Lorusso with a series of wild strikes but Lorusso uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lorusso with a poor takedown and Godlewski counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Godlewski. Lorusso throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Chris Godlewski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Godlewski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Godlewski is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. You can see the frustration on Lorusso's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Lorusso is looking to regain half guard here but Godlewski keeps moving and retains side control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Godlewski throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Jason Lorusso has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chris Godlewski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Godlewski shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lorusso as he jumps to the side.
