PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DeShawn Harrington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Allan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Randy Allan was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, DeShawn Harrington!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Randy Allan!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Allan misses the target.
Allan thows a left - swing and a miss!

Allan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Harrington tries to roll over but Allan keeps him under control.

Harrington actively working from the bottom here.

Harrington looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Harrington trying to control here.
Allan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Harrington looking for submissions off his back.

Allan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Harrington is just riding it out for now. Allan eventually gives up the hold.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Allan is defended easily by Harrington.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Allan looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Harrington manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Allan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Harrington. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Allan is trying desperately to improve position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Allan can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harrington landing strikes, looking to finish!
Harrington scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Allan tries to reverse the position but Harrington maintains control.
Allan is controlling an arm, preventing Harrington from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Allan tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Allan tries to lock up and control but Harrington gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Allan is looking to improve his position but Harrington isn't that keen on the idea.
Allan looks gassed!
A nice elbow there by Harrington.

Harrington goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Allan is on top in guard.

Harrington looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Allan is defending well. Harrington quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Allan has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Harrington celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). DeShawn Harrington!
