The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penna dodges the punch combination from Jones.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones. The ground and pound from Jones seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Penna is trying to get back to half guard. Penna struggling a bit here. Jones tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Penna is trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penna is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Penna's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Penna controlling from the back. Jones trying to control the hands but Penna breaks the grip. Penna biding his time, controlling Jones. Penna is not going to allow Jones to sit and survive in this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jones is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Jones rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to get back to full guard. Jones is staying active underneath Penna, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Penna with a poor takedown and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Penna is controlling Jones's position as best he can from this difficult position. Penna wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones trying to pass the guard but Penna defending well. Jones keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Jones trying to control from half guard but Penna is working away. Penna trying to hold on to Jones's head to control him but Jones postures up.
Penna actively working from the bottom here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Penna kicks off Jones and gets to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Jones dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Penna tries to clinch up and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Penna's guard now. Penna looking to control.
Jones working some strikes from top position. Penna wants to sweep but no luck. Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Penna swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Penna is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Penna looking to pass the guard. Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Penna is controlling him. Penna trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Penna slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Penna wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Penna stops Jones from standing up. Penna advances position into side control! Penna advances to mount. Penna takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Penna throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is looking to improve his position but Penna isn't that keen on the idea. Jones is trying to stand but he's just given Penna his back. Penna somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Jones staying busy and making it hard for Penna to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Penna has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Jones has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jones looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Penna looking for the choke but no joy. Penna working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones rolls, trying to escape but Penna keeps control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Bjj Penna will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Jones tries for a takedown but Penna circles away easily and Penna counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Penna is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily. Jones is refusing to be controlled, as Penna sits in half guard. Jones is looking for a sweep. Penna is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Penna is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Penna eventually gives up the hold. Penna trying to control from half guard but Jones is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is looking to control Penna's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jones avoid being mounted? Jones is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Jones slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Penna is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Penna wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jones keeping full guard, as Penna tries to pass. Penna won't allow Jones to sweep him here. Jones trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Penna trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jones keeping moving, preventing Penna from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones with a poor takedown and Penna counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jones won't be happy with that. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Jones is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Penna is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jones wants to control but Penna postures up. Jones is looking to regain half guard here but Penna keeps moving and retains side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penna trying to control the position but Jones is working away. Penna is staying tight to Jones's torso, preventing him from escaping. Jones defending against the ground and pound.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there. Penna wants to get back to full guard. Penna trying to control from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Bjj Penna showed his dominance in that final round. Well Penna has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
