Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenichi Shirahama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenichi Shirahama! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Masters! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Shirahama misses. Shirahama misses with a head kick.
Kenichi Shirahama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shirahama misses with a two punch combination.
Shirahama jabbing away but nothing is landing. Shirahama jabbing away but nothing is landing. Masters avoids the head kick by Shirahama.
Shirahama throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Shirahama throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Shirahama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Masters misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shirahama loads up on a big right hand but Masters slips the punch. A jab from Shirahama misses. Masters shoots in for a takedown but Shirahama shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shirahama throws a head kick that misses. Kenichi Shirahama is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shirahama moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Shirahama swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Masters counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Shirahama! Shirahama sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Shirahama tries to roll over but Masters keeps him under control. Masters wants to pass to mount but Shirahama is defending the position. Masters moves nicely into side control. Masters tries for a kimura but Shirahama is defending well. Masters thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shirahama is trying to improve his position. Masters looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Masters trying to control the action but Shirahama is working from the bottom. Shirahama gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Masters passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Shirahama! Shirahama tries to reverse the position but Masters maintains control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Masters working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Masters prevents Shirahama from getting the reversal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shirahama stops Masters from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Shirahama is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Shirahama is trying desperately to improve position. Masters looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Masters looks gassed! Shirahama tries to hold on but Masters postures up. Masters fails to take his opponent's back. Masters avoids the attempt from Shirahama to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Shirahama bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Shirahama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Masters swivels though and keeps the full guard. Masters keeping moving, preventing Shirahama from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Masters dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Masters counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Shirahama's guard now. Masters slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Shirahama wants to control but Masters postures up. Masters tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Masters tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Masters has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Masters wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shirahama, who protects the arm well. Masters is breathing heavily. Shirahama wants to control but Masters postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masters goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Shirahama rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Masters's guard! Nice work there by Shirahama! Masters keeping full guard, as Shirahama tries to pass. Shirahama trying to control but Masters is working from the bottom. Shirahama drops back looking for a leg! Masters is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Masters manages to kick Shirahama off! Shirahama jumps back into Masters's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Shirahama wants to pass the guard but Masters is keeping the position. Shirahama trying to control the position from guard on top but Masters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Shirahama misses with a double jab
and Masters counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Masters trying to control but Shirahama is working from the bottom. Shirahama keeping full guard, as Masters tries to pass. Masters won't allow Shirahama to sweep him here. Shirahama looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Masters pushes down on Shirahama's leg and manages to get into half guard. Shirahama moves into full guard.
Shirahama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Masters gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Masters advances to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Masters tries to pass the half guard into mount. Shirahama knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Shirahama is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Masters wants to work for an arm triangle but Shirahama is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Masters works his way into side control. Masters is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shirahama knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Masters is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shirahama is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Shirahama manages to work his way to half guard, despite Masters's best efforts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Masters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Masters drives through with a takedown into guard. Shirahama pulls Masters in close to prevent any damage. Shirahama has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Masters can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Shirahama looking for a sweep. Not yet Shirahama, not yet. Masters pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shirahama is keeping the position for now. Shirahama is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Shirahama wants to sweep here but Masters controlling him for the moment. Masters stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shirahama swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masters drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Masters jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Shirahama manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Shirahama jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Masters is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Masters and Shirahama has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shirahama can't keep his opponent in guard - Masters advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Masters wants to advance to full mount but Shirahama doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Masters is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ken Masters has got the better of the ground game so far. Masters drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shirahama manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Masters has Shirahama in his guard. Shirahama is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Masters keeping moving, preventing Shirahama from controlling successfully. Shirahama wants to pass the guard but Masters is keeping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Masters wants to sweep but no luck. Shirahama postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Masters is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shirahama, into his guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shirahama lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Masters!
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ken Masters. I've got Masters winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
