Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonas Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joakim Kroon! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kroon looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Johnson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Johnson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kroon.
Johnson successfully pulls guard.
Kroon trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Johnson holds on and takes a little breather. Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kroon throwing strikes from guard but Johnson blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Kroon is proving a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kroon slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kroon has his takedown stuffed and Johnson counters with a big head kick but Kroon shrugs it off. Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kroon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Johnson staying calm. Johnson advances to full mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson content just to control the position here. Kroon is desperately trying to improve his position but Johnson has a good base and remains in mount. Johnson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kroon has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Kroon is squirming around, avoiding Johnson's attempts to control the action. Kroon has given up his back here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kroon wants to escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kroon turns into Johnson and is now in his guard.

Jonas Johnson dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt. Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Kroon. Kroon with a poor takedown and Johnson counters by moving into the clinch. Johnson wants a takedown.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonas Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kroon is looking to break free of the clinch but Johnson has double underhooks. Johnson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Kroon is trying to keep an underhook but Johnson manages to get the takedown into half guard. Kroon wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.
Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Kroon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kroon is trying to maintain the position but Johnson is very close to passing his half guard. Kroon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Johnson is thwarting Kroon's attempts to control the position. Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Kroon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kroon fails with the takedown and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kroon is trying to maintain the position but Johnson is very close to passing his half guard. Johnson is keen to just control but Kroon is a slippery customer. Johnson is controlling the pace.
Kroon is looking for a sweep. Johnson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kroon slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Johnson looking to pass the guard. Johnson wants to control from the top but Kroon keeps moving. Johnson looking to pass the guard. Johnson content to stall in guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kroon looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Johnson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Kroon is positioning himself well to prevent Johnson advancing to mount. Kroon throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Kroon trying to hold on to Johnson's head to control him but Johnson postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jonas Johnson dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Kroon fails with an attempt to clinch.
Johnson shoots in and bounces Kroon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Johnson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Johnson stands up and waves to Kroon to follow him. Kroon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Johnson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kroon.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kroon tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.
Johnson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kroon manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Johnson looking to pass the guard. Kroon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there. Kroon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kroon trying to keep a closed guard but Johnson is proving a slippery customer.
Johnson is pushing down on Kroon's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kroon is fighting to maintain full guard but Johnson has managed to sneak the leg through. Kroon has his hands clasped together around Johnson's back. He's all about the action. Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Kroon has managed to free his arm - good work. Kroon works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kroon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kroon swivels though and keeps the full guard. Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kroon throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Kroon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kroon has an active guard here but Johnson has managed to pass into half guard.

Kroon is not content to let Johnson control the position. Kroon wants to get back to full guard. Joakim Kroon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jonas Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jonas Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! Jonas Johnson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Johnson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
