Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Ya! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Frost! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ya shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Frost looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Ya is looking for a kimura here.
Ya is working for a submission of some sort.
Ya is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ya missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ya is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Frost taking shots to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ya pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Ya working for a guillotine from mount but Frost is in no mood to give up. Ya looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Ya has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ya is landing with some decent strikes but Frost is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Frost is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ya looking for a guillotine from mount but Frost is having none of it. Frost wants to hold on but Ya pushes him away. Ya is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ya is working for a guillotine from mount but Frost frees his head quite easily.
Ya unloading with bombs! Ya jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Frost is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Frost and Ya has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The ground and pound from Ya seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Ya swings around for an armbar but Frost sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ya's guard. Ya wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Ya looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Ya managing to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ya wants to sweep but no luck. Ya controls Frost momentarily but Frost frees himself. Ya has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Ya bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frost's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ya keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Frost's head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ya accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ya lands a couple of elbows. Ya passes Frost's left leg - he's now in half guard. Frost is defending against the submission attempts here by Ya.
Ya is looking for a kimura here.
Ya is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Frost wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shin Ya dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Ya shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Frost as he avoids it easily. Ya shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Frost napping and manages to drive through into side control! Frost takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ya advances to full mount. Frost is breathing heavily. Ya is working for a guillotine from mount but Frost frees his head quite easily.
Ya raining down shots from the mount! Ya looking to secure an arm triangle but Frost defends it well. Ya lands a heavy elbow. Ya working for a guillotine from mount but Frost is in no mood to give up. Ya is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Frost can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ya has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Frost's face.
Frost is working to get back to half guard.
Ya with shots to the head and body - Frost looks very uncomfortable down there. Ya has hold of Frost's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Frost manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ya looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Ya is landing with some decent strikes but Frost is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Ya dominating with strikes here.

Ya with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Ya jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Frost manages to avoid the submission attempt. Ya works to advance to full mount. Frost defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Ya working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Ya throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Frost has his hands clasped together but Ya breaks the hold and Frost is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Ya!
