Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adam Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Whistler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Adam Barnes has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Adam Barnes seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Whistler forces Barnes back against the cage and clinches.

Whistler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barnes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barnes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Barnes bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Whistler's head.
Barnes throws a nice looking combination but Whistler bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Whistler throws a series of punches but Barnes avoids them all with ease.

Whistler shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barnes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Whistler accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Whistler closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Whistler is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Whistler is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Barnes defends it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Whistler drops his hands momentarily and Barnes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
