Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Luchaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luchaton comes into the arena with Going Under blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Manuel Luchaton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Flare! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Luchaton looks to score with a jab to the body but Flare is just out of range. Manuel Luchaton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Flare shoots for a takedown but Luchaton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Luchaton throws a low kick but Flare avoids it. Luchaton is looking to clinch but Flare is avoiding it.
Luchaton throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Flare checks a leg kick. Luchaton is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Luchaton tries to clinch up but Flare circles away and keeps his distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Luchaton scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Luchaton misses with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Luchaton looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Luchaton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Flare circles away. Flare shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Luchaton as he jumps to the side. Luchaton closes the distance and clinches up with Flare, looking for a takedown. Luchaton pushes Flare against the cage but Flare circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Luchaton tries to clinch there but Flare circles away.
Luchaton closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Luchaton is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Flare is defending well for now. Luchaton is trying to break the clinch but Flare is controlling him. Luchaton tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Luchaton throws a knee to the head but misses.

Manuel Luchaton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Flare. Luchaton landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Flare fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Flare checks a low kick from Luchaton. Luchaton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Flare checks a leg kick. Luchaton shoots for a double leg takedown but Flare sprawls well. He's pushed Luchaton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flare tries to score a power double leg takedown but Luchaton sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Flare somewhat. Luchaton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Flare sprawls well. Flare wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Luchaton gets slowly back to his feet. Luchaton tries to clinch there but Flare circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Flare slips a jab from Luchaton. Luchaton fails with a takedown attempt. Flare checks a leg kick. Luchaton shoots in but no luck this time. Luchaton fails with an attempt to clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fight stays on the outside here - Luchaton looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Luchaton misses with a low kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luchaton fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Flare. Flare blocks a low kick nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Flare shoots in and drives through. Luchaton sprawls well. Flare blocks a head kick by Luchaton.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Flare. Manuel Luchaton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Flare.
That's one minute gone in the round. Luchaton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Flare is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Flare's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Flare passes easily into side control. Nice work. Luchaton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Flare wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flare staying calm. Flare decides to stand back up. Flare steps back and let's Luchaton get back to his feet. Flare fails to land the takedown. Luchaton moves in looking to clinch but Flare pushes him off. Luchaton lands a big head kick that sends Flare tumbling to the mat! Luchaton takes a step backwards and waves Flare back to his feet - he wants the finish! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Luchaton tries to close the distance and clinch but Flare swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Luchaton leaves Flare with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Luchaton throws a low kick, looking for Flare's leg but Flare calmly moves out of range. Luchaton tries to clinch up but Flare circles away and keeps his distance. Flare throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Luchaton's waist but Luchaton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Flare off to one side. Flare closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Luchaton to the mat! Luchaton manages to get full guard. Luchaton being controlled here, momentarily. Luchaton is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Luchaton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Flare drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Luchaton dives on top into guard. Flare is breathing heavily. Luchaton stands and throws Flare's legs to the side, diving into side control. You can see the frustration on Flare's face as Luchaton controls the position. Luchaton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Flare, who protects the arm well. Flare is pushing Luchaton's head away, looking to escape. Luchaton manages to hold on to the position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Manuel Luchaton will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Flare controlling the position easily from mount. Let's hope that Flare has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Luchaton tries to lock up and control but Flare gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Flare fails to move to back control. Luchaton is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Luchaton throwing hammer fists to the chest of Flare. What's that going to do exactly? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flare tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Luchaton sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Flare takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Flare is figuring out what he wants to do next. Flare is trying to work for a kimura but Luchaton is defending well.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Manuel Luchaton. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Luchaton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
