Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Veijo Meri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meri has chosen hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikey Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Veijo Meri! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meri wants to clinch up but Brown keeps it at a distance. Meri drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brown is looking to regain half guard here but Meri keeps moving and retains side control. Brown wants to control but Meri postures up. Meri thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Brown is trying to control Meri's posture but Meri avoids it. Brown is trying to improve his position. Meri looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brown is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Meri's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Brown looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meri is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Brown is concentrating on defense, preventing Meri from advancing position. Brown manages to get to full guard.
Brown is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Meri postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Brown can't keep his opponent in guard - Meri advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Brown avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Meri. Brown is defending against the submission attempts here by Meri.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Brown is breathing heavily. Meri is thwarting Brown's attempts to control the position. Meri is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Brown has managed to free his arm - good work. Meri is looking for a kimura here.
Brown makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Brown. Meri preventing the sweep.

Meri wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving. Meri drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meri jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Brown is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Brown has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown is trying to keep Meri in close.
Meri trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom. Meri got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Meri has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mikey Brown dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Meri tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brown paws at him with a jab and circles away. Meri throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Brown moves out of range as Meri throws a body kick.
Brown avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Meri throws a head kick but Brown moves out of range.
Meri tries to bum rush Brown with a series of wild strikes but Brown uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Meri tries to score with a low kick but Brown moves his leg out of the way. Meri fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Brown is out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meri throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Meri closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brown circles away. Meri is breathing heavily. Brown connects with a body shot. Meri slips a straight right by Brown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meri tries to clinch up. Brown changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Meri looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Brown taking a breather here. Mikey Brown overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Brown in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Meri is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
