Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jonathan Riseman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Errol Schilt! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schilt lands a nice leg kick that just misses Riseman's sensitive parts. A good leg kick by Schilt. Schilt turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. A telegraphed right hand from Schilt misses the target. Riseman throws a nice looking combination but Schilt bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Some wild striking there from Schilt.

Riseman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Riseman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Schilt down.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Riseman tries to score with some ground and pound. Let's see if Schilt can do anything to dispel that myth. Riseman scores with punches from side control. Riseman is looking to take a break and control but Schilt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riseman misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Schilt is being controlled here. You can see the frustration on Schilt's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Schilt is looking for a sweep. Riseman landing a few strikes. Riseman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Riseman tries for a kimura but Schilt is defending well.

Schilt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Schilt looks gassed! Schilt keeping moving, preventing Riseman from controlling successfully. Riseman advances to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Riseman punishing his opponent with strikes. Schilt is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Riseman with the ground and pound from mount. Schilt in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Riseman wants to control the pace but Schilt is squirming around nicely. Riseman is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Schilt has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schilt is desperately trying to improve his position but Riseman has a good base and remains in mount. That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Riseman. Riseman looking to control and managing it successfully. Riseman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Schilt can do to turn this around? Riseman putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Riseman is landing with some decent strikes but Schilt is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Riseman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Schilt's face.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Riseman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee stands the fighters back up. Jonathan Riseman just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Riseman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Riseman content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Errol Schilt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
