Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Valentine might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Danger! High Voltage. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dirk Valentine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Hunter! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter tries to clinch up but Valentine circles away and keeps his distance. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Valentine is defended easily by Hunter. Hunter misses with the combination.
Valentine throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Valentine has closed the distance and engaged Hunter in a clinch.
Hunter working hard to break the clinch. The referee calls for Valentine to work.

Valentine has Hunter pressed against the cage, preventing Hunter from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Hunter is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Hunter can't break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Valentine circles away quickly and effectively. Hunter throws a nice looking combination but Valentine bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Valentine moves into the clinch successfully.
Valentine lands a body punch. Hunter stalling in the clinch but Valentine improves position. Valentine jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hunter walks away with a smile on his face. Valentine gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Valentine closes the distance and pushes Hunter back into the cage. Hunter is trying to break free. A frustrated look appears on Hunter's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hunter looks gassed! Hunter has had enough of the clinch but Valentine keeps him there for the moment. Hunter takes a knee to the side of the body. Valentine landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Valentine tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hunter smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dirk Valentine. That's going to take a lot out of him. Valentine slips a jab and a cross from Hunter.
Hunter clinches but Valentine breaks the clinch and Valentine counters with a solid body kick. Valentine moves into range and clinches up with Hunter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valentine lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Valentine. Valentine tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Valentine wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valentine managing to control the position. Valentine is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Valentine tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hunter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Valentine somewhat. Good exchange - Hunter coming out on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hunter throws a series of punches but Valentine moves out of range. Valentine has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hunter finds it's way round the side to connect with Valentine's head. Hunter misses with a combination
and Valentine counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Valentine swats away the attempt to clinch by Hunter. Hunter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Valentine counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Valentine. Valentine changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hunter fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Valentine gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hunter swings wildly with an uppercut but Valentine uses good head movement to avoid it. Hunter wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Jason Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hunter tries to clinch but fails miserably and Valentine decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hunter's guard. Valentine throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hunter works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hunter keeping moving, preventing Valentine from controlling successfully. Hunter wants to stand but Valentine is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Hunter wants to break the clinch but can't.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hunter creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Valentine tries to pull guard but Hunter holds him up against the cage and eventually Valentine drops back down to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hunter wants to clinch but Valentine slips to the side and Valentine counters with a takedown into side control. Sloppy strikes there by Valentine. Valentine trying to control the position but Hunter is working away. Valentine working the ground and pound but Hunter is defending the strikes.

Hunter holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Valentine decides to take the fight back to the feet. Some wild striking there from Hunter.
Valentine will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hunter tries to clinch but Valentine moves away and Valentine counters with a nice double leg into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dirk Valentine dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Valentine. Hunter wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Hunter looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Hunter trying to control the position but instead, Valentine has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hunter into the cage. Hunter tries to break the clinch but Valentine is controlling the position. Hunter has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Hunter wants to break free but Valentine has control.

Hunter won't allow Valentine to sweep him here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hunter wants to get up but he can't break Valentine's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Hunter wants to stand and escape but instead Valentine has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Dirk Valentine showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Valentine, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
