Lane comes to the cage accompanied by 5 Minutes Alone . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie Valasquez! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valasquez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lane. Lane throws a nice head kick!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lane. Lane tries to clinch there but Valasquez circles away.
Valasquez swats away the attempt to clinch by Lane. Lane fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Justin Lane. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lane lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Lane closes the distance and clinches up with Valasquez, looking for a takedown. Justin Lane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valasquez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Valasquez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

enabling Valasquez to counter with a crisp jab. Lane tries for a takedown but Valasquez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Valasquez scores with a punch to the head. Valasquez misses with a combination
and Lane counters with a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valasquez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lane. Lane clinches but Valasquez breaks the clinch and Valasquez counters with a three punch combo that has Lane backing up. Lane nods at Valasquez to acknowledge the strikes. Lane is breathing heavily. Lane tries to clinch but Valasquez moves away and Valasquez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Valasquez crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lane - the referee stops the clock and Valasquez gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lane. Valasquez manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Lane lands with a nice body kick. Lane clinches but Valasquez breaks the clinch and Valasquez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lane is trying hard to land a takedown here. Valasquez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab lands there for Valasquez. Lane shoots in but Valasquez avoids the takedown attempt easily. Lane walks into a jab. Lane fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Valasquez cracks Lane with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Lane misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Valasquez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lane tries for a takedown but Valasquez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Valasquez cracks Lane with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Lane has a takedown stuffed. Valasquez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Valasquez misses with a combination
and Lane makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Valasquez really felt that one! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Valasquez smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Valasquez misses with a few strikes there.

Oh Lane is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Lane tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lane seems to have got his legs back now. Lane shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Valasquez sprawls well. Valasquez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lane gets slowly back to his feet. Lane tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Valasquez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lane tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lane clinches but Valasquez breaks the clinch and Valasquez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Lane throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Valasquez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Lane's head. Lane darts in trying to clinch and Valasquez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Lane tries to clinch up and Valasquez counters with a straight right hand.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Lane. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Valasquez closes the distance and lands a one-two. Valasquez might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Valasquez throws a combination. Lane tries to block but a couple of punches get through. No joy there for Valasquez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Eddie Valasquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Lane throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Valasquez's waist but Valasquez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lane off to one side. Lane swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lane closes the distance but Valasquez moves to the side and Valasquez counters with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Valasquez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lane circles away quickly and effectively. Lane fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Justin Lane. That's going to take a lot out of him. Valasquez blocks a head kick by Lane.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lane working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lane thows a big elbow that misses. Lane postures up in Valasquez's guard and throws a big left but Valasquez blocks it. Lane throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Valasquez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Lane trying to control but Valasquez is working from the bottom. Lane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lane works over Valasquez with some ground and pound from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lane is working Valasquez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Lane is looking to stand up but Valasquez won't let him.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lane shoots in for a double leg but Valasquez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Lane wants to clinch but Valasquez slips to the side and Lane takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lane has a takedown stuffed. Lane shoots in but Valasquez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lane clinches but Valasquez breaks the clinch and Valasquez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Lane closes the distance looking to clinch and Valasquez counters with a stiff right hand. Lane tries to close the distance and clinch up but Valasquez swats him away and circles back towards the center. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lane looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lane shoots for a takedown but Valasquez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Justin Lane showed his dominance in that final round. I think Valasquez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
