Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rey Maualuga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Willis on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Maualuga. Maualuga obviously looking to wear him down.
Maualuga pivots, looking for a leg kick but Willis is out of range and Maualuga settles back down. Maualuga tries for a takedown but Willis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Maualuga shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Willis as he jumps to the side. Maualuga fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rey Maualuga. That's going to take a lot out of him. Willis slaps away a takedown attempt from Maualuga, before circling back to the center of the mat. Willis wants to clinch. Willis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Willis shoots in and drives through. Maualuga sprawls well. Maualuga throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Maualuga walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Willis checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Rey Maualuga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Willis tries to clinch but Maualuga is having none of it. Maualuga takes a swing at Willis's ribcage but misses. Maualuga throws a head kick that misses. Willis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Maualuga drags the fight down to the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Maualuga wants to stand up but Willis is controlling him. Willis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Maualuga controls Willis momentarily but Willis frees himself. Maualuga is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Maualuga scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Maualuga. Maualuga tries to clinch but fails miserably and Willis counters with a body kick. Maualuga is breathing heavily. Maualuga throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Willis moves into the clinch. Maualuga landing knees to the body.

Maualuga has Willis pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Willis manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Willis throws a knee to the head but misses.

Willis wants to clinch but Maualuga slips to the side and Maualuga holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Maualuga takes a knee right on the jaw!
Maualuga tries to circle away but Willis has him pinned against the cage. Willis gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Willis connects with a knee to the head.
Maualuga tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Willis smiles and moves away.
Maualuga tries for a takedown but Willis circles away easily and Willis counters by clinching up. Willis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Maualuga's efforts to push away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rey Maualuga's cut is getting worse. Willis throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Maualuga blocks it with crossed arms. Maualuga is trying to drag Willis to the mat but Willis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Willis landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Rey Maualuga's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Willis tries a knee to the head but Maualuga blocks it.

Evan Willis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Rey Maualuga's cut. That's time! Maualuga's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
