The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sagdiyev gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Karusa stands up and waves to Sagdiyev to follow him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sagdiyev. Sagdiyev misses with a takedown attempt and Karusa counters by moving into the clinch. Karusa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sagdiyev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sagdiyev closes the distance and lands a one-two. Sagdiyev tries for a takedown but Karusa circles away easily and Karusa counters by moving into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Borat Sagdiyev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sagdiyev letting Karusa take a breather here. Sagdiyev fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Karusa works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Karusa looking to sit in guard and control but Sagdiyev gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sagdiyev avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karusa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sagdiyev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Karusa looks gassed! Karusa is looking to stand up but Sagdiyev isn't so interested in that idea. Karusa keeping moving, preventing Sagdiyev from controlling successfully. Sagdiyev wants to pass the guard but Karusa is keeping the position. Sagdiyev stopping the sweep attempt from Karusa.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sagdiyev pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Karusa is keeping the position for now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sagdiyev fails with the takedown and Karusa counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Karusa shoots in for a takedown but Sagdiyev shows good takedown defense. Sagdiyev moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Karusa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sagdiyev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Karusa swivels and escapes. Borat Sagdiyev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Karusa drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Karusa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sagdiyev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sagdiyev gets back to half guard. Karusa lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Karusa shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Karusa slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Karusa lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.
